I'll take another look when I get home, but I didn't notice any slash marks on Samurai's torso either, not at first cursory glance.
I received both sets of Cap/Venom and Wolvie/Samurai yesterday from Amazon. I have thoughts.
Samurai actually ain't that bad. I feel like a lot of the parts are new, it's not just a straight repack. Maybe the arms and legs are reused, but the rest feels new. Again, I haven't looked closely or compared side by side with the previous version. I'm surprised he has no loop to store the sword though. Is that energy effect with the electricity and two spheres related to Samurai?
Wolverine feels great, but I really think they could have achieved this on the same size body as every other Wolverine in the past ten years. Love the crouch thanks to that double pivot joint in the waist and diaphragm. One claw on his right arm came out a bit crooked, but not unfixable. Could have used a second head expression. Love the slash effects, very much like the video game, at least from what I remember.
Venom pops. Love the colors. This guy is in no way becoming a default version, but it's unquestionably handsome. I don't care much for the transforming head, and I'll always have weird preferences for how the jaw looks. I guess this one looks fine, but also looks like it should have a hinge. It does not.
Cap. Wow. This one COULD become a default version. I love it. So clean. While I do love sculpted scales on his costume, this is just slick. The butterfly joints are like butter. And they're fly. He has a reasonable amount of bulk, almost personalized to Captain America himself. Makes him unique, and I like that. I think he's got new boots too. The shield is one of the older smaller shields, but when that effect is attached, wow, really dynamic. I think that's the overall sense I get with this figure. He has a lot of wow factor for me.
So far, I'd say Psylocke, Cap, Wolvie, Venom, Thanos, War Machine, Omega Red, and Silver Samurai are how I'd rank these MvC figures, top to bottom.
