Action Force and Valaverse

I wonder if doing your four most popular characters as o-ring is really a valid test of whether the line as a whole has support.

Well in general I am a fan of 3.75" scale and I'm a fan of the o-ring. It flatlined for a long time but recently we've been seeing signs of life. Hasbro and Super 7 are both dabbling in it again, we got those o-ring Ghostbusters that were a total surprise, we have Back to the Future and monster figures coming up in this style....if Hasbro and Super 7 and Valaverse are all teaming up, maybe this figure style can be resuscitated. It will be interesting to see.

I get the nostalgia of o-ring stuff, but for me modern articulated figures are what I always imagined o-rings to be when I was younger. I'll say, the grenade carry case for them is a fun touch. Very on brand.

I'm too jaded to think that's a sign the line's doing well.
Seriously.
Also, he's a fucking dipshit and people that buy into his nonsense are dipshits. This is intentional language, though. What other companies are even in a position where they -need- to do this? Much as I hate to admit it, McFarlane has the market cornered in terms of a company that can put a fair amount of value into a package for a cheap price (because, as McFarlane admits, he owns it and can charge whatever he wants without appeasing shareholders, and he doesn't have the employee bloat of a lot of larger companies -- basically, the same advantages dumbass has).

I've begrudgingly watched some of his YouTube videos, and good lord, the man is a NARCISSIST. Holy shit.

I bet he smells his own farts like on South Park...
"You either die a Smart Fella, or you live long enough you see yourself become a Fart Smella", or whatever it was that Harvey Dent said.

I'm kinda lucky that I don't collect this line or the GI Joe Classified (though a few of those figures are starting to catch my eye, at least for the weapons), but yeah, every time he pops up on my feed, I'll watch, just out of pure morbid curiosity. I do sorta appreciate the honest industry talk he gives every now and then, but mostly when he praises other companies, not so much when he just praises his own. I don't hate the guy, but there's definitely something about him; he kinda comes off like that high school jock that never grew up and picked up some nerdy hobbies along the way, or like the nerd who got picked on, but instead of emotionally maturing, just grew into a jock himself so he wouldn't get bullied anymore.

I do have a few figures, and I like them for the most part. I even have two different versions of Pandora, and made them twin sisters, one with the Joes, the other with the Dreadnoks. There's a few more I have my eyes on, as well, so hoping they don't sell out too quickly.

He comes across like the guy who never served, but is going to tell me why anything I recount about my experience serving is wrong.
