Ooh, I wonder if he's ever stolen valor...

It's sort of MAGA lite in the presentation. He makes a lot of claims that he knows he'll never get called on, and if he gets into trouble he likes to put the legal hat on and try to silence others. I saw something recently where he was going after the ACBA(?) for some reason, and to be fair it seems like they were going after his as well (so no one comes out looking clean). More chest thumping and bloviating over toys.Has he served? I can never tell. It seems like he likes to hang with folks who have and adopt the look. I have no idea.
I generally believe him when he says they've got enough stuff selling that they can use the economy of scale to lower costs. I don't have a lot of fondness for how he typically presents, but he has a self-image that I think would lead him to that sort of thing. Which, y'know, good for his die-hard fans. Glad they'll be getting stuff cheaper. Glad I'll get it cheaper if any more of his figures appeal to me.
At the stage we're at now, my stance on his is that he's generally a blowhard, but he makes competent (if a bit dull) toys.
That is an apt statement.he makes competent (if a bit dull) toys.

See, this part I associate with an artist I used to know who was absolutely doing fine on his own work, but had an ego that led him to start or join in beefs ALL THE TIME. You would assume success would tamp these things down, but generally it does not.If your line is doing so well why do you have to constantly get into arguments and make derisive comments about current, and former, associates? Shouldn't your success be all you need to show others?
Shows you where my brain is at- when you said "served", I thought you meant like a server at a restaurant. He comes across like the guy who never served, but is going to tell me why anything I recount about my experience serving is wrong.
I liked the RUMBLR better, but not at that price, though for me I just don't like the looks of the Vanguard enough. More and more 1/12 vehicles are coming out so at some point I'll probably get something that splits the difference. The flying vehicle coming from Vala is more interesting to me. That's wacky in a way I like and stands out more from his usual line.I watched disThunder's review of the Mezco R.U.M.B.L.R, and in it, he compared it to the Vanguard.
While I like the look of Mezco's I just couldn't justify that price for something that is largely going to be packed away.
Suffice to say, the cheaper Vanguard, thanks to disT's showing it off and praising it, got me to order that from BBTS. It'll be my ride of choice for the Monster Force figures I (and will) have, and can double for a survivalist vehicle in some photo ideas I have.
That one was funny because I have a friend deeply entrenched in UFC, and when I shared that initial connection, he had a vitriolic reaction and apparently the scene already knew he was shady. One of his figures based on a real person, Tim Kennedy, was accused of stolen valor. I wouldn't even know this guy if he didn't have a figure. Former Ranger, UFC, involved in the typical Rightwing grift (podcasts, self help guru, nutritional supplements, etc). I've seen Bobby denounce him a few times and I get the feeling he's genuinely embarrassed by that one, even beyond the business aspect.
That's the one, thanks I wasn't sure.Articulated

I kind of figured that as a possibility. I mean we all get our backs up from time to time, but usually we can say our piece and move on. His ego seems to be one that can't let anything go no matter how successful his company. I have seen some videos from him where he is clearly passionate about the industry and has a depth of knowledge. However it seems like he just can't help himself and has to stick in jabs at others.See, this part I associate with an artist I used to know who was absolutely doing fine on his own work, but had an ego that led him to start or join in beefs ALL THE TIME.
