SDCC Exclusive Savage Land 3 pack (Rogue, Sauron, Shanna)

I absolutely hate the McF diaper. Having a bunch of Jada SF in hand, I honestly never made the connection. They really don't compare, and the improved articulation is huge.

Jada is miles ahead of McF. I've been impressed with everything I've bought from them; they're just well-sculpted, well engineered, and I have not encountered a stiff joint with them yet. Wouldn't say the "diaper" thing ever even occurred to me. The reason it stands out so badly on McF figures is because it's bulky and doesn't blend into the sculpt.

I bought the Jada Cyberpunk figures and they are actually quite stellar. I will be buying more. I can't get into their SF figures, I'm strapped for cash as it is. I have quite a few figures now though that have this artic scheme Cammy is rockin, and I must say, its not bad. Most of them are expensive imports, but it doesn't look awful to me, the way they did it, and it gets alot of RoM. I agree, some figures can kinda look bad if done wrong. Luckily, the only new McFarlane stuff I have are a few Witcher game figures, and while the hands and sword hilts are kind stupid looking, the rest of their pieces look pretty good. But I don't have any of the DC stuff, and I never payed attention to it to look. I have the Mattel ones, I didn't wanna rebuild everything. So I made it one of those lines I completely ignored lest I get the itch to buy some. But I have Boss Fight Red Sonja, and she is like the Cammy. And Morna of the Horde also has it, but I don't think its meant to be seen on her as much. If shes stripped down, it kinda looks a little odd. But with the skirt or even her granny panties on she looks cool and also gets some really good poses. Mafex Psylocke also has it, and I barely noticed.

Jada executes it better. It fits, has a better cut for all around mobility, it has leg drops to get around it, and it generally blends at the waist.

I would say Cammy is the "worst" of them because of her unitard and the flesh paint as a part of it. But in practice, it's worth the posing. I have three. It's that good.

On Chun, (and a hypothetical Sakura, Karin), any of the men, it's a non issue because it's a natural waistline and material break.

That's the design of the character and her costume. How should they have executed it differently?

Sometimes I see people complaining about figures when they're actually complaining about the design of the original character art, and this feels like one of those times. But I'm not sure of it since I can't really see what people are pointing out. Certainly nothing about her pelvis looks like a "diaper." Cammy is wearing a unitard thong in the version of Street Fighter they took the art from, and I dunno how you do it better than Jada did. I'd love to hear some ideas though.

The straight cut of Cammy's waist is a bit harsh on my eyes. I still like the figure overall, but I think that cut is one of Jada's few missteps. Storm did the same thing with Morrigan and combined with their price, she was a non buy. Speaking of Storm, the Arena male figures have ab crunches, but I don't see it on Chun Li. They must've known ab crunches don't belong on female figures.

Last year I ebayed a Play Arts Arkham Catwoman. First time I looked at it in ages and was surprised how close it was to a current McFarlane.

The quotation marks are the important qualifier here. Not to speak for altcunningham, but I think he's saying exactly what you are - Cammy's design (with no obvious breaks through the waist to hide the lower ball joint) is the least accommodating of that articulation setup, so you end up with an obvious cut with the lower abdomen going straight into the lower pelvis piece, creating that briefs look. It is, technically, the "worst" looking of all the Jada SFs because the rest are easily hidden - but it doesn't actually look that bad, and certainly not like other companies that do this type of articulation poorly and end up with the infamous diaper.

I get where people are coming from with not liking this setup for a design like Cammy's, even if I prefer it (I'm disappointed that MvC Psylocke doesn't feel as dynamic as Cammy with the ML "superarticulated" torso articulation). If ML moved to double barbell abdomens for all characters except those without a good place to hide the lower abdomen/waist I'd be fine with that. But a ton of character designs (maybe most?) have natural points where that can be integrated seamlessly. The new Wolverine gives me hope.

Time for metal framed with the squishy plastic overlays for all action figures from now on! Everyone LOVES the Mezco '89 Batman!

I don't believe you could, maybe a different leg cut so there is no flesh and it's entirely on the sculpted legs, but I've seen someone mod that and it looked worse for me.

That's why I put it in quotes while acknowledging the design and the mechanics. The very nature of the sleek unitard is going to look bad with a waist cut or hinge as far as I care. This is the best solution for her poseability.

I'm not complaining, I praised the execution and own multiple. Feels like you're just arguing my own points back to me for the sake of a dispute, but maybe I failed at expressing myself in my writing.

I'm the one who called it a diaper in this thread - I also don't have to propose a "better" way to do it.

It is what it is, I was simply surprised after all the praise Jada gets, to see a cut that ugly on a main character. It IS a factor of her design, I just think it looks bad. It kinda looks like ToyBiz's Psylocke/Wasp sculpts, which also looked like diapers.

This whole conversation just makes it clear that none of you are serious about ABDL play. None of the figures mentioned get anywhere close to the bulk and lumpiness that turns on adult babies and diaper lovers. SMH.

Every food mascot I've gotten from them has had too smooth of joints, unfortunately.

They're not anything that I would call "loose," but my Tony the Tiger, Count Chocula, and Frankenberry can't stand. Their top-heaviness shifts ever so slightly due to Earth's gravitational pull or one of my asshole neighbors letting their apartment door slam, and the ankles can't keep them up.

Chester Cheetah is at least more proportionate, so his noodly legs aren't supporting 90% of his mass above them.

Sucks, because otherwise (and not having matching pairs of hands) Tony is SPECTACULAR.

I can't speak to the mascots because I kept them in their boxes, but I have almost all of their Street Fighter figures, as well as Megan Man and Cyberpunk, and none of them have given me any trouble.

My hypothesis is just that cartoon mascots aren't meant to exist in the real world
