Snow C.A.T. Live!

I never would have believed, based on the pace it had been getting backers, we'd get this far.

Yeah, it didn't look good. But that FOMO is hitting people hard now.

22 backers to Flint.
Edit: 7 backers to Flint just in the time it took me to post that.

Looks like I won’t be canceling! See ya in a year or so, SnowCAT! Let’s get some more dudes to ride this thing.

So three figures includes brings the value of the CAT to 250. Still feels steep, but I guess that’s what USB-C electronics gets ya. That tent doesn’t feel like $25 worth of stuff.

Glad to see it all funded. It's a cool looking set up overall. I haven't the room for it, but glad it hit all the tiers. Does Hasbro tack on tariffs onto Haslabs after or is this all out the door pre-tax?

'Feels like' is definitely subjective. I don't think any toys 'feel like' the price they are anymore. But I'd bet you an accessory pack of exactly that Bivouac set would be 25 dollars on Pulse. Of course, I guess we'll see when they re-issue it in green.

I think the electronics are really cool and fun and something that you probably want in a HasLab - but if the SnowCat had been a retail release for 200 bucks without the electronics, I wouldn't have been upset at all.

Yay! Glad this wasn’t coming down to the final minutes to get Flint over the line. A few hours to spare is great! Honestly wasn’t sure a week ago we’d get everything but glad that worry was unnecessary. Proves you never can really guess the way the wind blows on these Haslabs.

I certainly don’t need electronics, but I get that that’s how they turn this into such a high end piece. I’d much prefer these vehicles with no electronic gimmicks, just straight forward, ready for retail. They’ve got great offerings at $100 with a figure.

Even with the Bivouac at $25, that still brings the CAT to $225 by itself. That still feels steep. I think they could have pulled it off at $150 with no electronics.

I think it's worth pointing out paint hits, too. Even just looking at the unfinished model they showed off before, I feel like there's going to be a lot of small paint details and extra parts that, given the size and complexity of this thing, would probably preclude it from being in that 150 range from a company the size of Hasbro. I do think 200 dollars would feel... fair... given the general pricing structure of Hasbro, if this had no electronics and were available at retail. Maybe even 180. I don't think there's any chance we'd see it less than that.

That being said, if they really do release a white, stripped-down HISS, we may very well get to see what a HasLab without the HasLabbiness looks like in terms of cost.

I actually thinks this proves that GI Joe Haslabs will exceed their goal no matter how things seem to be going throughout the campaign. This thing might hit 17K, 18K at the rate it's going now, with more than three hours left.

I absolutely would prefer a stripped down, no electronics, cheaper version of pretty much every Haslab so far, but the tiers do allow for some mental gymnastics to help take the sting out of it. $25/figure of course, and I do think they'd release the bivouac with... I dunno, cartoon Grunt? for $54.99 in green (as Damien pointed out, we'll find out if that'a accurate or not in a year or so when they issue it in a new color) so I'm going to tell MYSELF that there was 100 bucks of stuff I probably would've considered buying on their own. Yeah, at $225 with that internal rationalizing it's pricy, but it's not something I will be mad about later.

It's funny, waaaaay back when the campaign started we had a lot of talk about the assumption of the figures and their value, but it almost seems like at the end... I guess a lot of people do math in that third or or fourth figure into the purchase price?

I have to rationalize the cost of each figure subtracted from the overall price of backing. It’s why I need every figure/tier to unlock. For something like Giant Man, with no figures as tiers, the overall price was considerably lower than that of HasLabs that included figures as tiers. What I don’t want to pay for are the electronic gimmicks I will never use. These get displayed, and rarely if ever turned on.
