Marvel Legends Gamerverse

I should probably mention this but for the better part of week I’ve been doing daily searches on eBay for the remaining 2 packs since they started showing up overseas and not a single Wolverine vs Silver Samurai or Cap vs Venom set is available for purchase from overseas suppliers. A few War Machine vs Omega Red sets have shown up in the states though. I’d start checking Walmarts for those later sets if you want the war machine but they might be street dated.

I got a Walmart e-mail telling me to double check my address and my payment methods since they’re prepping the War Machine/Omega Red 2 pack. Just says they’re preparing for it to get to me by August 11th.

Maybe they’ll eventually get around to that Gamerverse Spirit Spider or the ‘77 Spidey that went up in March.

I always felt his bone claws stopped expanding when he had the metal ones. Because they had the metal surrounding them in the first place, they got crushed by the process. Then, while having the metal surrounding what was left, they would just heal inside the metal, but couldn't really expand because they were beaing constricted. Kind of like how your hair will just stop growing at some point because it just knows when to. And then when he lost the metal surrounding them, they were able to expand out to meet the required thickness to be able to not break since they no longer had the indestructible housing. And I think they still did from time to time. Not to mention they, as stated above, also look kinda gnarly due to all the things they've been through. Healing and breaking and being compressed and expanding. Normal bones honestly can heal kinda like that too if not set right.

If we are gonna actually debate the topic of hypothetical claws coming out of someones hand, how do they not just shred the fuck out of his skin and muscles, and fall out every time he hits something with just a little less give then paper mache? He would need some sort of plates on both sides of his hand to keep them from doing that, but that would still hurt and rip his skin up every time he tried to "make a door."

Another reason they never should have been bone. I think at one point it was some kind of cybernetic deal. I always assumed it was something the group that gave him the adamantium set up when they had him captive. If he had always had the claws, then they would have been thick from the beginning. Or they should have. He was clearly not meant to have already had bone claws.

It wasn’t really properly in the Weapon X story but I think what Barry Windsor Smith was trying to imply that while the techs at the lab were hooking Wolverine up to all of those feeders and implants, they were cramming so much adamantium into his body just to see what they could do. It wasn’t a strict, regimented process because they didn’t know or understand how to implant adamantium. Their only job was to learn “if” adamantium could be grafted to human bones, not “how” it could be done more efficiently.

And as a result of these lab technicians pumping Wolverine with so much adamantium, the claws protruded out of his hands by accident as a result of overfilling. They essentially used too much and had a catastrophic failure. And from there on it was just one misbegotten failure after another, punctuated by mild successes in the “programming” and training regiments that Wolverine would have to endure

ToyBiz didn't release an ML Cannonball, did they? I thought it was Hasbro Dark Ages.

Yeah, in a 2-pack with Domino circa 2007. It was a reused of the Toy Biz ML series 7 Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze, no series 3 Dan Ketch). https://legendsverse.com/checklist/marvel-legends/figures/walmart-cannonball-domino-2007-942

I'd chalk most of the inconsistency in size/scale in early ML up to reuse more than anything else.

An so that was Hasbro. My mistake everyone. Those early years of Marvel Legends a complete blur to me now

Just took a stroll down memory lane, looking at old Colossus figures. I forgot how many I had owned over the years.
I have five Colossus figures (or "Colossi"). Are there even that many more Colossus figures out there?

Pre ML figure with the barbells. I took a chrome pen to this guy and he looks pretty sharp.
Pre ML Colossus from the Giant Sized X-Men multipack. This is a really good set overall.
Toybiz ML Colossus. I love TBML and this figure is no exception.
Hasbro Juggernaut two pack Colossus. I unloaded Juggernaut in favor of the BAF, Colossus is one of those figure I could be good with forever.
Hasbro Deadpool movie Colossus.

I mean if you count superhero showdown and Marvel Universe Unlimited then we also had a classic colossus figure there and I think even an Ultimate Universe Colossus. But as far as the others we have gotten through the years we have the figures you mentioned plus:

5” mutant armor colossus

5” Battle Brigade Colossus

X-Msn classics Astonishing version

Simone Bianchi version from X-Men Schism

Classic colossus from Marvel Select

Several mini mates

AoA BAF.

And so far that’s it. Unless I forgot to mention vintage imports and whatnot

That Giant Sized box set had so many good figures. They were all my defaults when I played with them as a kid. Such good toys. I still have it all too. I think the box is long gone, but I still have the figures. I still have most of my childhood figures actually. Probably uncommon nowadays.

For my money, I always prefered the Marvel Select Colossus to any of the ML versions — though I never picked up the Colossus/Juggs set.

The MS version has the best head sculpt by far and I like that's he's tall and more thin. He's a bit tall for ML but he's not ridiculously large compared to the other X-Men. And anyway, he's freaking Colossus.

There was never a mutant armor colossus.

The 5” X-Men line had:
-Power-Lift Colossus (with the barbell)
-Puzzle Zoo’s “Hall of Fame” Colossus (Just the —Power Lift with a red and black repaint)
-“Marvel Universe” Colossus (the same as puzzle zoo’s on a different card.
-Battle Brigade Super Strength Gauntlet Colossus v1 (the big one in classic colors)
-Battle Brigade Super Strength GauntletColossus v2 (an Acolyte colors repaint)
-Secret Weapon Force Colossus (his Excalibur suit, but he had a huge gun)
-X-Men Classics Colossus (the same as the above figure, but with an exploding rock stand)
-Giant Size Boxed Set X-Men Colossus (Black Hair)
-Giant Size Boxed Set X-Men Colossus (Blue Hair)
-Savage Land Colossus (he was a companion figure with Storm, but he was a Triceratops for some reason.

Toybiz Marvel Legends had just ML5 Colossus.
X-Men Classics had “Super Strength” Colossus in the Astonishing outfit (kinda)
They also did a 4” one for Marvel Legends Showdown.

Marvel Select did him with no variants for once.
