Tracking toy tariffs

So Nintendo announced today that prices for the Switch console, not the Switch 2 mind you, are going up due to the current economic situation (i.e. tariffs). I can't think of another time in the history of the US where almost 10 year old video game hardware got more expensive as opposed to less. I think it's happened in Europe where prices have gone up, but I can't recall it ever happening here. Thanks, Donald!

I got my Ultimates Silverhawks wave one from BBTS yesterday. Got hit for another $24Cdn because BBTS is using FedEx due to issues with shipping to Canada through the postal service. I guess they are worried about the strike/possibly strike, whatever. So what probably would have been both cheaper to ship and avoid duties with the postal service gets dinged thanks to tattle-tale FedEx.

Glad I got it so cheap from BBTS because I won't be doing that again unless it is something super cheap I am truly wanting to put in the collection.

Oh and I have to say DAMN!!! Is armoured Monstar a beast!!!! I have Mumm-Ra The Ever Living from Ultimates and he is a bit smaller than Monstar.

Yeah, the 'will they/won't they' stuff with the postal service has stopped me from ordering anything from the US if I can avoid it.
 
Of course, he'll just say they're lying and had it right the first time. As if the act of revising them isn't totally common place and normal. But his people won't know that.

I was just hanging out with some people in a video game and a US friend of a friend brought this up. Of course they were claiming it was entirely because of Biden Obama woke people Sydney Sweeney Colbert yadda yadda.

The main thing they were mad about is now they would not buy a switch one because they are raising the price 8 years later. I asked when they were ever going to get a switch one given it was 8 years ago and the second one is already out and they sputtered out. I also had that autistic need just to be factual and was like well as long as it's in production and on shelves they're going to need to account for all those tariffs from the various countries. Guy went into a Maga tailspin, even blaming Canadians.

I made my goodbyes and logged.

Sick of all this shit, but mostly sick of how the mask is off on how stupid people truly are in our midst. I feel like Heston on a primate planet.
 
Also, my sister told me she's noticed Target and Wal-Mart removing tags on their clothing lines and doubling and tripling prices. Finally saw some footage of that on the net to back it.

And then they'll just maintain self-checkout and no staff and complain about shrink being up I'm sure.
 
Hard not to see this as another attack on the USPS. Without the necessary infrastructure that FedEx, DHL, UPS, etc have in place to charge by actual value of the package, packages under $800 will likely cost more to ship by USPS. But who can tell with the constantly fluctuating TACO tariff rates.
