Marvel Legends Gamerverse

I’m looking at the base of the boot fins where they connect at that V shape and how the black stripe continues down the boot. If you look closely at the bent knee, you can see that the boot fins taper off to the right of that knee joint. Not to mention more of the calf muscle is present at the very top of the boot. That vantage point would be impossible if the boot was completely straight and pointed towards the camera from that angle

Follow the black stripe of the boot up the leg and to the knee. In every photo available it aligns with the outside edge of the knee joint.

So, I’m going to beat a dead horse here for a minute. It has nothing to do with the discussion at hand, so forgive me.

On the way home today, I was thinking of the Gamerverse branding, and wondered if this might be an avenue we could hope (and pray) for an Air-Walker release. Stand-alone Deluxe figure, Gamerverse branding with “Contest of Champions” callback.

I dunno. I just want the damn character somehow. With my hopes kind of dashed by SDCC, I’m trying to hang my hopes on something.

I think that as far as Gamerverse is concerned I don’t think there is really anything holding Hasbro back from making figures from whatever game they want that has the marvel licensing. And that’s good news for us. Prior to the Capcom figures I was under the assumption that old licensing wouldn’t apply . So say for instance, all of the games that were published by LJN and Activision in the 90’s and 2000’s were completely off limits. But all of the Capcom stuff kind of occurred during that sweet spot so who knows? My two biggest requests are figures from the Spider-Man games by neversoft along with Wolverine figures based on X2: Wolverine’s Revenge. I also wouldn’t mind designs from Marvel Heroes: Omega. If there is even a snowballs chance in hell that any of these properties can warrant action figure tie ins decades after the fact then I’m down

it’s a little weird it was so accurate when Shuma Gorath looks 50% bigger than he did in game.

I'm pretty sure they made Shuma-Gorath two years ago but months before they were going to release him Marvel lost the rights to the name and the team wasn't sure what to do about it. The same thing happened with the Multiverse of Madness merchandise; I bet they began production with the name Shuma-Gorath but had to pivot to Gargantos when the rights reverted.

The Gamerverse line was their reason to finally release him with new packaging. I also bet there's a bunch of unused packaging somewhere in a warehouse with the name Shuma-Gorath on it.

It would make for a hilarious surprise if that packaging ever saw the light of day. But I think the real reason they made these Marvel vs Capcom inspired video games is because between 2024-2031 we are currently in the midst of a whole heap of 30th anniversary celebrations of X-Men: Children of the Atom, Marvel Superheroes, X-Men vs Street Fighter, Marvel vs Street Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom 1 & 2 and Marvel and Hasbro would be foolish to not capitalize on these six games in some way.

There is credible info out there that a Multiverse of Madness branded Marvel Legends Shuma-Gorath was not just solicited, but shown to retailers in 2022.

I'm pretty sure I remember seeing import data with some evidence of the same. But that would mean they made it as far as packaging and shipping without any pics leaking, which is pretty unbelievable.

I think it's more unbelievable that it didn't come out after the fact rather than it making here without there being photos before it came out. There is plenty does make it here without pictures leaking out.

But now that I think about it, didn't jstern also have info about a Shuma-Gorath back in then on the Fwoosh Boards, too?

It would be really weird for them to have made Gargantos for Multiverse of Madness but molded him in green and only sculpted the details present in Marvel vs Capcom. This looks like a newly designed figure unless they just gave up on the MCU look immediately.

I think they STARTED with a digital sculpt from MoM (hence the scale) and resculpted the details on him.

I found four Psylocke sets at Target but on all four she had black dots on her face in various places, and in one her hairline was receding significantly. Is this common?
