General Marvel Legends

Someone on this forum told me that I was wrong when I said he didn't have boot swivel, so I just want to flag this comment for whomever that was:

Oh come on, Wolverine being a stumpy lil bastard is the one thing this line has consistently gotten right, don't go making him yuge from here on out, man. I mean, I have enough Wolverines to last me until the end of the world, so I guess it's fine, but WTF, Hasbro.

Back on the Masque set - someone up thread said Crossbones kinda looks like what the tacticool guys THINK they look like, and I just stuck him in a running pose and had a vision of him trying to chase someone and now I can't NOT see this figure as one of those videos where a guy is wearing too much tacticool gear, tries to run, and demonstrates to the world that while he lifts, he ALWAYS skips cardio and kinda runs in a jiggly, gear-jangly undignified slow motion. I like the figure but he looks like Aunt May could outrun him and I love that.

I saw someone on Reddit claim that Wolverine in the game when not crouching is as tall if not taller than the other avg male characters. I wouldn't know but the screen shot they included seem to suggest that.

Yeah, that's why I was worried about this guy. If they were actually going for game accuracy, it's correct to make him pretty big. But if they're putting all that money into a whole new body for him - what are the odds they're okay with just never using it again? I'm very concerned this is the new Wolverine body going forward and that's going to basically just mean I don't buy Wolverine figures anymore.

Does it have to be only Wolverine? Take off the shoulder flares and put different boots on it its just another slightly thicker heroic body. I'm for it if it means sculpting shorts pieces on the lower legs across the board.

That's fair. They could always ditch a few parts and use it for other characters. Will they? Time will tell. I still think it's far too likely that we're just going to see more Wolverines on this body.

My first thought is "did they reuse most of this for the new brown and gold Logan they showed off at SDCC." Hope not. One big Wolverine that's game accurate is fine but I could see them cheaping out and making him the standard buck.

Isn't the new brown Wolverine just the existing '97 yellow Wolverine basically without the shoulder pads?

I think you're right- for some reason when I saw the promo images I thought it had the new single hinge elbows from the gamerverse one but that's my mind playing tricks on me again.

So, I just played MvC2 for the first time. It's not so much that Wolverine's big, it's that all the Capcom characters are tiny. I'm not sure if they did that intentionally because the Marvel characters are superheroes, but comparing him to a Capcom character doesn't mean much.

And, honestly, I bet the old Wolverine body is a hair bigger than Jada's Street Fighter figures. It's probably closer to the game's scale than this new behemoth.

I had the same thought at first, but thankfully it's on the old Wolverine body.

With a few part swaps I could see that Wolverine body be used for a character like Capt Britain. It is a weird choice for Wolverine to be so big. Kinda glad I passed on this one. I've still got the first Brown suited Logan from years ago and barring his fiddly claw hands I'm still happy with him (that and I've got a few other Wolverine variants).

I'm normally a pedant for scale, but I don't really care here. He's going with Capcom characters on my shelf and I just like how he looks too much to let the scale bother me much.

I really want to like this Wolverine figure. We'll see how much the scale bugs me when he's in hand.

Did some comparisons of Wolverine's on my shelves - that last Astonishing figure is a bit taller than the Apocalypse body base, and I don't mind it. I'm curious to see how this Wolverine compares to the Astonishing one.

EDIT - found an image in the twitter thread. Looks comparable.
