X-Men '97

Grabbed the whole wave, and yeah, even the EB Canada site was buckling. It was right at 5, so I chalked it to the power of X-Men.

Might not want Morph or Logan, but better to return than to never find.

So, WW2 Wolverine has new claws? He looks cool, but those claws, I unno man. And they're white, again. Is that a new release Zabu or just the BAF again? Storms head looks better in those case pics.

I think the claws on WW2 Logan are a removable weapon, like a ninja would use, not claws that pop out of his hands.

Oooo that would be cool. I didn't think of that.

I was roaming through the GI Joe section of BBTS to see if they had any good deals or figures I didn't know existed, and I ran into Quick Kick. Why the hell didn't they use his torso for Gambit. If they're reusing shit anyway, may as well make it something decent. Quick Kick doesn't look perfect but he looks alot better then what is in those pics.

And in WWII those should have been bone claws. It can't be too hard to get these claws right.

Besides that, this figure looks pretty good.

They aren't his regular mutant claws. They're a detachable weapon like fingfagfoom said. That's why the clawed hands have the wraps that go around his palms while the other hands don't.

Why would he need those when they established in the Origin comic series that he was born with bone claws? Weird, but I'm guessing they explain it in the story.

Does anyone know which comic showed Logan in WW2? I'd like to check it out because I really enjoyed that idea when they briefly showed him and Sabertooth in WW2 during the "Wolverine Origins" movie opening montage.

I believe there were times in Logan’s past where he didn’t realize he has claws at all. Those stories may have been written before Origin. WWII era may have been one of those times.

I'm pretty sure the claws being a separate weapon was from the Animated Series episode flashing back to WW2 with Captain America? Maybe it was a different animated show, but it predated Origins - and they needed claws.

Sunspot was sold out from EB Games within 5 minutes last night which even for Legends was unprecedented. Managed an in-store pre-order today and Amazon backup, just in case. I don't love the animated style as it makes the figures look like a different line than Legends (and I get it), but I'm happy it's inconsistent enough for figures like the new Cyclops were it actually fits better with the comic stuff.

of course we get a Cable without the permanent eye effect and it's too cartoony to be used on a Comic figure. Dammit Hasbro.

GameStop’s got them all in stock and marked them up to $27.99 apiece but at least they fixed their system so it gives you combined free shipping on preorders that’re shipping around the same time.

You are exactly right. Jump to about 7:20 -

What I’m remembering may not be canon, but there was the WildCATs/X-Men crossover where Logan and Zealot teamed up, I believe it was the first of four issues, art by Travis Charest. She was the first to give him the claw weapons. Maybe that was taken from the animated series as well, the comic was very likely was released after the animated series.
