Four Horsemen X Mr. Beast Lab

What's to be done with this? I understand it's based off his logo but are there any other characters or content to expand upon? Does his logo cat even have a name? I don't quite understand the need for the 4H's superior sculpting talents for something that looks like a toy found at Ross.

There is already a line of Mr Beast monstery toys, and this is basically a scaled up version of one of those. They could always do the others, but I feel like this will be a one and done.

Man, the comments on Instagram, the fans are NOT happy the Horsemen are working with Mr Beast!

They’re in the comments clarifying it was work for hire for Moose Toys and this is NOT Legions figure or Legions compatible.

It’s a good lesson in, hey, maybe vet who you work for. If a deplorable comes to you, puts your name on the project (the slide says “4H Studios X Mr Beast Labs” they had a representative at the panel to talk about it! it wasn’t Moose Toys revealed a figure and the Horsemen said “oh yeah, we worked on that!” they put their stamp all over this!) you don’t get to do the “we were just following orders!” shit.

The Horsemen love getting tricked by con men! This might be the first time but will not be the last they take money from a piece of shit for work for hire, proudly display it on their socials, put their logos all over it, send an underling to endorse it in person, get yelled at, and then pretend like they had no idea what they signed onto

Do they love getting tricked by con men, or are they just con men themselves? Think about it.

Look, I have my fair share of problems withe Horsemen (CREDIT MY WIFE, YOU FUCKS! But of course they could NEVER as that means popular character Minotaur the Duck didn’t spring fully formed from once in a generational genius talent Eric Treadway’s mind!) but they’re not Con Men.

You give them money, later a box full of figures arrives. I know you have problems with Legions, but there’s no surprises, they look like the prototypes (give or take factory paint being slightly different and One Sixty Shooter’s photos being way too dark so they’re just gonna look different in natural lighting) they’re uniform in quality… they’re exactly what they claim to be on the tin: Basically an American 3rd Party toy manufacturer churning out very generic fantasy figures.

Brian Flynn is a Con Man (he’s straight up Lyle Lanly, you could with no exaggerations make a Brian Flynn biopic by just changing the names in “the Music Man”)
Jeff Beckett is a Con Man (thankfully no 4H nudie calendar… yet?!)
Megaopolis/Premiun DNA were Con Men (Oh! Add them to the list of people who tricked the Horsemen into a shitty deal too!)

The Horsemen are just raging dipshits who make a semi-decent toy and do above average work for hire (and that’s being generous) who think they could be the next Todd McFarlanes but lack his keen business sense (and funny voice) so anytime a Con Man saunters up to them and says “y’all need a (thing they do not need)” they immediately climb into bed with them.

Oh! And to clarify an earlier post, I meant video game when I said “failed game”, I believe the TTRPG is being done in house (it was written by George or Jermey or one of the seventeen dollar store Robos they have on their live streams I can’t tell apart. They sent him to an RPG writing workshop in Scottland! So you know it’s gonna be good and not that the Horsemen got tricked into sending one of their goons to a failson day camp for top dollar) so that will probably get release, the Kickstarter is probably just to figure out how many books to order and those books will then promptly go to cult members homes and be put on a shelf and never touched.

Critical Roll didn’t even crack the “can we make a game system better than D&D or Pathfinder so WE get the money instead?” code, I don’t think the guy who’s day job is making sure the figures in the shipping box match the invoice (and from personal experience, doesn’t always nail it) is going to be the one to do it.

The TTRPG will be a unique side project for that is a total success (those books will exist thanks to modern self publishing being so easy!) and a total failure (no one is going to play this game, maybe once to see what it is, but not a full years long campaign you visit every!)

This is definitely what I meant. I get the impression that the 4H will trick themselves into thinking sales = use, and invest more into this TTRPG and THAT'S where it will all come off the rails because no one is actually -playing- it.

I don't disagree with any of the comments you made following this, for the most part. Although, I would argue that not crediting people for their work (I have long maintained that they directly copied fan-art designs for their work without credit as well), makes them con men when they convince people that they have a creativity that they, in fact, do not have and that perhaps their entire product line couldn't exist without stealing from others, but I can't prove it so that's just opinion.

However, let's forget that part and stipulate that everything you said is largely true. It doesn't actually prove they're not con men. Con men can still make and sell product if it's either not part of the con, or if its intrinsic to the con that they do so. I'm 100% not sitting here claiming they ARE con men. That wasn't my point at all. My point was that I don't see very much evidence to suggest they aren't in on all the cons. They seem to come out fine, even when customers don't.

They ARE liars, though. I've witnessed that first-hand during the MOTUC years. For example they made claims about the Blade figure that were blatantly false and easily disproved and all their fans just ignored it. But they were clearly happy to lie then. I have no evidence to suggest they won't continue to do so if it benefits them, and therefore I have no evidence before me to suggest they won't engage in a con if they feel there's a benefit to them without repercussions.
Again, I'm not saying they DO that. Just that I also don't have any reason to believe they're just the dumbass hillbilly victims that keep getting taken in by these big city boys.

The benefit of not having kids and not really being much of a gamer is I picked up an ugly fucking blue monster figure I could not identify in my nephew's toy room, asked him what it was, he said "that's Mr. Beast" (my nephew was eight at the time?) and I internally thought "oh that's why this is both cheap AF and ugly AF" and moved on. These kids are not going to be on a forum in 30 years talking with other guys their age about Mr. Beast figures the way we chucklefucks are talking about GI Joe and Ninja Turtles.

I have a love/hate relationship with Mythic Legions (when they make something I enjoy it's instantly my favorite thing; but I get kicked in the balls every couple of purchases and fall out of love again) and I think their fans can be FANATICS in the worst sense of of the word, but it was fuckin' hilarious to see on their socials that they had to immediately go on their back foot and be like WORK FOR HIRE, WORK FOR HIRE, WE JUST TOOK HIS MONEY THIS IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT because maybe, just maybe, these goofballs can start to learn to stop punching themselves in the dick with some of the deals they make. Whether you think they're ethically corrupt con men or innocent fuckups, I think we can all agree these guys have never had a terrible deal waved in front of them they didn't sign on immediately if someone told them they were pretty.

That's the truth and no denying, as Sam would say.

I've liked every Fourhorsemen Figure I've owned. But I don't buy a ton. I try to get Goblins, and the Figura Obscuras when they come out 3 times a year.

I reassess my feelings about the company every time a shipment hits. Obviously I like them, I have a kitbash of their stuff as my avatar, but I think I'm more raw about it because like, just yesterday I got figures I waited two years for and two broke or were damaged out of the packaging. I think I suffer from anticipation vs. disappointment bias. (Mind, the last set I got? perfect, no glitches, and with their best work yet, so I was fully on board 36 hours ago and had no rage in my heart. It's cyclical. If my Rising Sons figures show up without damage I'll be back on the sunny side again. It's the unpredictability that frustrates me more than the figures themselves.)

In defense of the Horsemen on that one; I think that's just everything in toy collecting.

Don't know if any company is out there making perfect product every time. And, increasingly, most of us are way more aware of the price tag and therefore have higher expectations and less ability to accept faults. I LOVE Marvel Legends, but they've repeatedly disappointed me for some of my absolute favorite characters/costumes. I love G.I. Joe and Classified specifically, but they've made some figures I really wanted that turned out a bit 'meh' due to articulation limitations or issues they had earlier on with sticky hip joints, or just slight design decisions I didn't like.
I have a constant love/hate relationship going with Star Wars Black Series where I get super hyped and then the figure shows up and I'm just kinda like.. yeah... it's another SWB figure where they clearly didn't feel like they needed to try very hard. But I get just as excited next time.

My overly wordy (as always) way of saying that I think what you're experiencing is just normal.

Goddammit, when you put it that way you’re right! Okay, they ARE con men!

Just because they’re easily conned doesn’t mean they aren’t running a grift themselves.

That's the reality. Again, though, I am not actually accusing them of running any grifts or being part of anything like Megalopolis stealing from people. I have no evidence or even good hearsay to support that. Lest anyone come away saying 'Damien says....'
