Harvinger Studios, Savage Crucible

I haven't been paying attention to these, but the Lemurian/lizard figures look great and I am a sucker for animal warrior figures for some reason (looking at you Eathyron's Dozen, and you, Spero Toys feline figures...), but many of these appear to be out of stock most places. Anyone know if they will produce more?

Not gonna lie, at first glance I read Nashorn the Disinherited as Nashorn the Disinterested, which amused me...

I don't think they'll be making more of the first wave (Lizards). Some are still available though, on the official store (savagecrucible.com). You can still find them on AliExpress, but they're a bit more expensive than they were for KS backers.

The human figures are also available on Ali for a ridiculous premium now, and a limited amount of remaining stock will be available on the official site on August 1st.

Random question, but is there anywhere a list or catalog of the "surprise" bonus weapons that come with the current waves of Savage Crucible?

My understanding is that all of the bonus weapons are the 'Power Weapons.' If you go to savagecrucible.com and go to the Checklist (under 'Lore') there's a section for the power weapons. It's basically just the Wave 1 Lizard-People weapons in translucent plastics.

Oooh perfect! That's exactly what I was looking for, thanks!

I'd go for The Rose and a Harvinger Studios version of Arioch, because otherwise who will Elric pledge "BLOOD AND SOULS!" to?

The Rose would be great, and ofc all other leads from Moorcock works, but I honestly don't know how you'd make a pleasing Arioch figure.

I know he's had designs in comics, but he's much more powerful as that amorphous presence from the books... he would be better represented by an ambience added to the display and maybe some DIY background bits of book imagery with black smoke and flies, etc, than by a specific figure.

Picked up a few from the main store and one from BBTS... I was hoping someone had a full slate, as I wanted a variety of the "army builders" but only was able to get one type (Shadow Slate). Look like fun...

I like and appreciate the Slates, but I really do think the full figures are a better deal considering all the armor, extra parts to make them unarmored, more weapons, and a fair bit more (and more complex) paint detail.

Agreed. It's similar (for obvious reasons) to creating representations of Lovecraft stuff. Nothing you can actually physically make is going to capture the idea of a creature that your mind can't really comprehend.

In my head, the more fancy and intricate armor is worn by the "kings" or "generals", as they really aren't fighting but trying to look intimidating and in charge in impractical looks. So the basic figures with less armor are the grunts/infantry who get thrown into battle - therefore I need a couple of them to support each leader.

I haven't decided what my head canon is going to be. I think it's really going to be based on what figures I end up with. Worth noting that from at least the Migration Era through the end of the Medieval Period and, in fact, through the Renaissance/Pre-Modern period (basically from like 500 C.E. to around 1700 C.E.) it was pretty common for wealthier leaders to outfit their household warriors/personal bodyguard with extravagant armor and weapons. The best way to show off your wealth was to show you can afford to make even your underlings look rich.

I'm kind of leaning right now toward Nashorn being a sorcerer-barbarian (Skeletor-ish) and having the lizard guys I own as his personal bodyguards. Thus explaining why they're wearing such well-crafted gear. Once I get them out of storage I'll be experimenting with how that looks.

So in the lore, there are lizards that apparently walk on hind legs and have mastered metallurgy and those that are still naked and all fours?

Remember in 200x He-Man how sometimes a cat is a big animal that you ride on and sometimes a cat is the bipedal king of an entire culture? I guess they're like.. doing that.
