NECA 2012 Turtles

I loved this show too up until pie-guy talked about eating ass on social media and was fired and replaced leonardo with scrawny weasel-voiced seth green. What a weird sentence to say about TMNT.

The old Playmates toys were fantastic, too. Some of the best playline TMNT toys ever made. I almost don't even want NECA offerings because I'm still cool with those cheaper versions. The only real cop-out on those was the paint and NECA kills it with paint so that's a good reason to upgrade.

I didn't love the space season, but I liked the rest of it so much that it is still my favorite TMNT show overall.

Jon Heder essentially playing Napoleon Dynamite playing Napoleon Bonafrog? I didn't think this show could get any better until then. I'm a huge Napoleon Dynamite fan and this episode almost felt like an unofficial sequel in which Napoleon is mutated into a frog and meets up with the TMNT. Adding Napoleon (and the other 3 frogs) to my list of needed figures from Neca.

My kids discovered that show a couple of years ago and I had a blast re-watching it with them. I went out and got all of the DVDs and they stayed interested almost the whole time (my son did lose some interest the longer it went, but my daughter was always game for more). For me, I fell off of the Nick airings at some point so I got to see the Tales of the TMNT stuff for the first time as well which was all right.

I got into this show when I started getting back into TMNT in general, collecting the NECA figs in earnest and so on. It was a real nice slice of nostalgia pizza. Ultimately the best combination of everything turtles into one piece of media. Made me wish I had kids to share it with, but I did get to enjoy it with my wife, it was her introduction to TMNT.

I really like what they did with each character, too. Their personalities really shun through. I used to have the Revoltech figures but sold them. They were cool, but their quirks eventually turned me off. Subsequently I've been excited to rebuy the characters as NECA.

They could really do a lot of fun accessory/head packs for this line. I really hope we get some far out head sculpts.

Well let's see, catching up on my 2012 watch. I got to the Bebop and Rocksteady episodes. I had no idea they were even going to be in this show. I assumed Rahzar and Fishface had taken their place but then they popped up so that was cool. Also the Mighty Mutanimals appeared. I love that Slash and Leatherhead are good guys on this show and I'm going to need figures of them as well as the other two Mutanimals and of course Bebop and Rocksteady. The list grows ever longer!
