I just finished it but the ending shocked the hell out of me (no pun intended) so I'm speechless. Overall, I loved it. Very, very intrigued to see what happens with the character after that ending.
Personally I like these call-backs to Phase 1, but admit the cynic in me feels this is partly to drive engagement with the older phase films on D+/physical media/TV airings by referencing the whole history of the MCU. Doesn't always seem organic to the plot - although I think they have done OK in that regard - but it makes sense to keep as many of their properties in the overall MCU mythology seem relevant. For instance going back to plot points to the solo Incredible Hulk film in Cap BNW, a film which otherwise was kind of orphaned at this point, or having people go "maybe I should watch IM 1 again" after finishing Ironheart.
I saw it and loved it.
That ending, though ... it needs to have some resolution. Marvel can't just leave it like that. I really don't want Riri's story to wind up in the same MCU blackhole that's swallowed up Moon Knight, Starfox, the Eternals, Werewolf By Night, Hercules, Blade and other cool characters that are currently in limbo.
Ironheart Season 2 is too much to hope for, but maybe Black Panther 3, Doctor Strange 3, a Strange Academy series, Secret Wars, Midnight Sons ... a Ghost Rider movie would be super cool. Here's hoping.

Oookay. That was certainly a show that I watched. It certainly didn't live up to my expectations (which is my fault for sure), but this may be one of those "glad people like it but it's not for me" kind of shows.
When I initially heard it'd be Ironheart vs the Hood, I was excited about a tech vs magic conflict, not a tech also uses magic vs magic conflict.
My favorite parts of the show were the kind of double-cross sequence inside the Heirlum labs and when she beats the squad in the White Castles without her suit. It makes me think that I really would have liked to see her go the whole show just slowly reassembling her armor as she needed it until in the end it was a final suit.
I also liked how Natalie was basically the BARF fulfilling its roll as a therapeutic tool. I think they played a little fast and loose about how easy it was to put a hologram anywhere projecting out of that little medallion, though.
But the show was pretty loose about how and when Riri struggled with building anything. Like, we now don't need arc reactors because wind and solar are enough. Until they weren't enough and she needed a magic power source. And I don't believe for a second that she built an Iron Man suit out of a car. Buuut, I got to make a meme out of it, so it's not a total loss.

I doubt it will end, but I don't think Riri will carry her own film? So need to hope for another season. Or hope they get Armor Wars figured out and find a way to get Riri and War Machine and Ezekiel Stane and Justin Hammer some closure and have a cohesive story about the proliferation of the armor technology. Of all the MCU rumors that I have been wanting to see come together, Armor Wars has (or had) the most potential to be fun and topical if done right I thought.
I was thinking that if they want to reduce the overlap with the films, that keeping both the "Street Level" and 'Monster/Mystical" characters in their own semi-connected Disney+ universe might make sense. The old Netflix characters + Echo in one sub-section and then Agatha, Billy, Death, Blade, Werewolf by Night, Man Thing, etc in another, and have Moon Knight and maybe even Riri (as a street level IM) be a possible connector between them - these can all work with a lower budget and limited series/specials, don't really need the big screen, and are mostly characters that I don't think need to be dealing with the higher powered threats the Avengers/FF deal with. Spidey should be the top of the food chain they interact with for the street level, and Strange/Wong for the Monster/Mystical.
Kind of how the Filoni-verse section of Star Wars has its own thing with Ahsoka and Mando and the Rebels crew that is connected yet separate/not essential to the PT, OT, ST.
