Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies and Streaming Series Discussion

I finally sat and watched the first three episodes. It wasn't because I didn't want to, more that I didn't have time (and was doing a Kevin Smith binge with my son...he loved them all).

The first episode was alright. I did find myself picking up my phone a couple of times. I see the parallels between her and Tony, even while being opposites. Tony built his first suit in a cave (with a box of scraps), while she built her first suit at MIT (Wakanda Forever). Tony built his to be a one man fighting force, and she is building hers to help first responders...respond faster. Tony built his second suit with anything he could have ever needed, and she's hijacking power from the apartment to get hers to work. I did perk up at the end when she finally got her AI to work.

The second episode hooked me a bit more. The Hood has been a character I don't know a lot about, but like the dark magic aspect to him. Anthony Ramos was an interesting choice as he doesn't have a lot behind him. TF: Rise of the Beasts is the only thing I've seen him in. Manny Montana though really piqued my interest. He was the best part of the last season of Mayans (that otherwise sucked). I liked the heist scene, and all the went with it. Alden Ehrenreich was fantastic. I don't care what anyone says or thinks, his Han Solo was great. It's a shame Star Wars fans suck and we'll never see him again.

The third episode got me invested. Luckily I don't have to wait long (tonight) to see the rest. Having more Alden really made me happy, and the chemistry between him and Riri was well done and believable. I just hope she isn't creating her own villains in the end. Getting a little more (albeit minute) about The Hood and just how the power work. Ruadh mentioned last night that she could work well with all the other "Young Avengers", and I told him she doesn't seem like a team player. He reminded me Tony wasn't at first either. I assume this will be part of her character building, and we will see a different Riri at the end.

I'm reading other peoples thoughts on Reddit and surprisingly they all seem to be enjoying it as well. That place is usually a cesspool of hatred.

Thanks for all that Dre. It's really just a matter of making time to watch Ironheart but your thoughts got me super anxious about it.

Also thank you @Felonious Monk, I've never seen that and will have to. Another thing I enjoyed was the mermaid episode of his travelogue he did for a late night talk show. I believe those are on the Jersey Girl Blu-ray.

The final three episodes of Ironheart are on in just a couple of hours. I can't wait! (But I guess I have to)

Will we finally ... FINALLY see the long awaited MCU debut of ...

MEPHISTO!!!!!!

If so, it's interesting that it happens right around the time that the Silver Surfer, Wonder Man and Doctor Doom make their debuts, as well.

Phase five is very nearly over. In three weeks, phase six will begin.

I better go make sure I have plenty of popcorn.

The casting rumors I heard about that have me more excited than anything else.

Sacha Baron Cohen would make an incredible Mephisto.

A hush falls over the crowd.

The lights dim.

The conductor cues the orchestra.

The curtain rises ...

Hold me.

But it fits with the character...oddly enough where I felt annoyed by her character making bad decisions because I felt that they were making her unlikeable, now that she made a really bad one I just feel sad for her...as what she was offered, both achieving her dream and fixing the past...hard to pass up. Bold decision to go that route, and honestly we should have seen this with Wanda (when everyone was predicting it).

Very curious where they go from here...

Also, look for the reflection in his spoon around the 27:45 mark in the show....

Side note: I do wonder if Mephisto resurrected the stepdad, but accidentally made him a Chicago PD officer with no memory of his past...

Watching he latest trailer, there is a a scene where Sue is walking with presumably Franklin as baby while many nervous people look on. My suspicion is that much like the origin of another superhero, the spaceship we see in the post-credits scene from Thunderbolts does not have the full FF, but maybe only a single baby sent off to protect him from the expected demise of the Earth the FF inhabit....

Where DO they go from here? Ghost Rider, Blade, Midnight Sons, Strange Academy, Doctor Strange 3 ... or (and this is a real long shot) a few scenes in Secret Wars with Sacha Baron Cohen's Mephisto, RDJ's Doom, Josh Brolin's Thanos and Aubrey Plaza's Death?

I don't know. I'm just spitballing here. I got nothin'.

I believe that much at least is confirmed.
Well alright then. Guess I'd better get crackin in that series.

I've made it up past the Tunnel heist and got to see Parker do some of his thing, so that was fun. You also earn a lot of goodwill from me with an Alanis sing along.

But I still don't think the show matches the scale of an Iron Man suit. I mean, they're basically doing a Shadowrun, and she's got super strength rocket armor. I feel like it would've blended better if she was just doing tech stuff. Fixing up parts of her busted armor for specific needs until toward the end of the show it can all be assembled into a full working suit again. If that makes sense.
