Marvel Legends Gamerverse

Yes he was created in the Barry Windsor Smith run and then was briefly used in the Capcom games with Barry’s consent but since then Marvel doesn’t have any further access to the characters name. It’s kind of like a Rom/Krystaar situation. Now I think the name of Shuma Gorath might be technically tied up with Frank Frazetta’s estate

Robert Howard created Shuma Gorath, and the character name is therefore owned by the nest of companies (Tencent at the top) that currently owns the rights to all of Howard's creations.

Cool. I wanted to be sure. I felt like I wanted him anyways, but if he is also part of the Conan lore, I definitely want him. I can put Shuma-Gorath with either Marvel Legends figures or Conan figures.

They do bring in alternating artists and rotating artists.
They do, but the monthly schedule at base is just an ongoing issue. There's a whole lot of reasons for this, but it'd be abusive to the thread here to really go deeply into it. The short version is Spider-Man just has to come out 12 times a year per title and that pace, with current expectations *and other pressures), is going to almost guarantee worse work.
For the small press company I work for, we long ago accepted that a monthly schedule isn’t even remotely possible, especially given that we need to crowdfund each issue. So we settled into bi-annual campaigns, launching our books in February and August of each year, and using those funds to finance production of the next issues. It’s not making us any money, but we’re enjoying ourselves.
This is the way. Don't worry about not making any money, as far as I can tell nearly nobody is. I hardly know anybody who could do it without the regular paycheck of a spouse or totally different day job keeping things level. Well, except the few folks I've met who had some cash infusion because of getting a movie option on something. Even they aren't living high on the hog, just living.

I'm still on the fence about him, but only because of space concerns. He looks really rad.

Ditto. He's super cool and part of one of my favorite fantasy settings (Hyborea, that is), but I don't really have the space for something like that. Especially when it's not like we really have a cohesive Howardian universe in toy form anyway.

I was surprised at how many new parts the new War Machine has too. The entire upper body is new. So is the helmet, shoulders and gauntlets on his forearms. The cannon is obviously also new. I can’t tell with the design of his boots though. The look the same but they also look more bulky than before

Got Gamerverse Miles Brooklyn 2099. Such a cool looking design that makes for an excellent action figure. I haven’t played the game, but i love this look. The red details and shine on the armored parts of the costume contrast nicely with the fabric parts. Looks really nice.

I really can't get over how much I dig this figure, too. He's just FUN. Actually makes me want to go back and finish the game. (I got super busy with work about two hours into game play and never got back into it, despite loving the original game.)

Would this Cap fit better with the X-men 97, Spidey and X-men vhs figures than the Secret Wars or 20th anniversary Cap does? Trying to get a Cap that fits in with his appearances across those series especially X-men 97.

I would say the lack of scale armor on his chest, and therefore lower-detail look, makes him fit in better with animated and pre-modern video game collections for sure. When Cap appeared in an episode of X-Men TAS, he did not have scales.

That's the look I want on my shelf. Thank you

I’ve said this before but as far as a comic Captain America goes, this look fits squarely in the timeframe between Mark Gruenwald’s run beginning around the year 1985 and it lasted until the end of the Heroe’s Return Era of Captain America Vol 3 #50 in 2001 by Dan Jurgens. That entire era featured Cap with a smooth torso. And this also applied to marvel events and crossovers that ran during that period. Though I guess if we’re including Secret Wars which was penciled by Mike Zeck then I guess we can also include his run on the Captain American with J.M. DeMatteis. But it took awhile for Zeck to really develop his style. There’s a lot of iconography associated with his work to this day but it’s fun to go back and look how much his art changed over the course of a 15 year period between 1981-96

Got Gamerverse Symbiote Spider-Man. Very cool figure. I love the aesthetics of this figure and the sculpt. Interesting take on the character design with a lot of sinewy muscle detail on some parts and an armor plated look on other parts of the suit.

Excellent abdominal articulation, similar to Maximum Spidey. They chose not to give him butterfly shoulders, perhaps so that they would not cut into the spider symbol. Although Hasbro was able to get butterfly joints on the Brooklyn 2099 suit which also has an intricate chest pattern.

Symbiote Spidey also could use a neck hinge. He just has a ball joint so there isn’t the best neck range.

Overall this is a really cool looking Spider-Man like Brooklyn 2099. The aesthetics of these two make them really unique.

Ooh, I'm glad you mentioned that neck joint, Akat. Limited range on a Spidey neck is a deal breaker for me these days, and I was already on the fence about getting any of these video game Spideys.
