Star Wars Black Series

That SDCC Anakin vs Obi-Wan set looks amazing. Hope it's not nearly impossible to get like some past SDCC items were.

Anakin/Ben looks really cool but I don't really have any desire to own it. And I don't care about anything else in those pics. Although, I have to admit, the Halloween stuff looks fantastic and if these figures weren't so expensive up here, I'd probably grab one or two.

Force hands and motion blur saber blades are really awesome. I wouldn't mind having that set, but glad the exclusive is something I can live without. I imagine they'll do a stripped down version of both Anakin and Obi-Whan Kenboy eventually though, like they did Starkiller.

Oh definitely. Just without any of the things people actually like about this set. Haha.

So like fifteen minutes after I was like "they never do bigger play set type things anymore" they reveal that SDCC exclusive. Anyone else have a wishlist you want me to poke the universe for? (I'm currently VERY happy with my Anakin and Obi-Wan collections, but I'd consider picking that set up because it's so cool.)

Barriss and Guard - PERFECT. Beautiful figures. Can't wait for those.

Every time I swear off holiday variants they pull me back in. Wicked Witch Asajj Ventress is a SUBLIME choice.

The only thing I can think of is what I just mentioned in the Classified thread, as Haslab Slave One. Properly scaled and detailed. After they finally showed the interior pretty thoroughly in The Mandalorian, I feel that's entirely covered. Also love seeing how the rotating deck worked. I have no idea how I'd pay for it right now, or especially where it would even go, but I would figure that all out for it.

Well if history serves, they will actually come out after Halloween, and be on a deep discount way before the following Halloween.

I hate that RotS duel so much, but hot damn that set looks so nice and well-done. It’s a maybe.
Those Halloween figures though . . . wow. Amazing stuff. I really wish Classified would do Halloween stuff like this. That Imperial Ghost?? Fantastic.

This is a bit random, but Hasbro has now released four green women this year.

And they look great! I want Wicked Asajj - the first of these holiday editions that appeals to me. Possibly because it's the first female they've deigned to include? But I do understand why people will be annoyed at her - why does an off-brand character get new soft goods when other real characters get shafted?

Barriss' hood-to-cape looks fantastic - that really is a nice match. Excited to add her and the Jedi Temple Guards finally!

I feel like I need to just start a full Clone Wars Black Series shelf.

The ROTS pack is beautiful - I wonder if it's going to be over $100, like the Cantina one. Who am I kidding, of course it will be. At least the effort is truly visible on this one - and finally, more 1:12 dio pieces!

Her saber hilt is incorrect. It's based on this one you see carried by several Jedi:

For some reason, for hers they kept off the top part of the emitter.

BUT... in no way preventing me from getting the figure nor will it make my eye twitch when I look at her on the shelf. Just a thing I noticed.

I wonder if those new Anakin and Ben bodies are shades of things to come. Are we about to get a Vader figure with ball-jointed wrists and some swooshing effects? Are we going to get a Bespin Luke with a softer overlay so his articulation works, ball-jointed wrists, and variant heads? I would hate for them to do all this work on the core design philosophy for Black Series only to never use it again except on some stupidly expensive exclusive set.

And in case Hasbro is listening (they're not) I just recently bought the Qui-Gon/Ben/Maul three-pack, and I will rebuy ALL THREE figures right this fucking -SECOND- if they're re-made with softer overlays, better articulation, ball-jointed wrists, swappable heads, extra hands, and lightsaber effects.

Of course, as soon as I make a post calling out the lack of Force hands, Hasbro goes and reveals them. I'd like to think that they'll start being included with every Force user, but we'd hoped the same thing about the lightsaber fan effect after it came out with Dooku, and it's only been reused, what, twice now? Aayla and this BotH set? I do think the 3 different sizes thing is a really cool choice, and any extras can be given, I'd assume, to existing figures (unless they somehow made them incompatible with the hilts/pegs).

The only way I see all of them being implemented moving forward- swappable hands/heads, fan effects, ball-jointed wrists- is if there's a price hike, and nobody wants that. But yeah, in general, at least the ball-jointed wrists are a MUST moving forward.

My only concern is that they won't be useful. Depending on how the pieces fit together, you may either have 'okay' range, 'good' range, or literally nothing but 360 degree swivel. I'm interested to see how these work once someone has them in hand.
