Harvinger Studios, Savage Crucible

I pretty much gave the figure a 9/10-ish. I don't have ANY of the issues you are describing. I was not paid by Harvinger (I wish).
That's why I mentioned was specifically referring to videos that are presented as a reviews, where the assumption is the person would be doing stress tests, looking at the figure critically, ect. I saw some videos of him that were shown as first impressions or unboxing which also wasn't what I'm talking about either.

Also it goes without saying people loving the figure and sharing their opinion is something completely different and valid.

Yeah I didn’t have any issue with Elric. His articulation is awesome.

More Crucible Codex:

CRUCIBLE CODEX: PRESALE
Not every figure that isn't in our warehouse is still waiting to be made.
When we say a figure is available through a PRESALE, we mean production is complete and inventory has already been ordered.
The figures are on their way. You're simply reserving your piece of the shipment before it arrives.
In plain English:
Already made. Not in hand yet.
A presale isn't a promise to create a figure. It's your chance to claim one before it reaches the warehouse.
Words matter in the Crucible.

I'm more inclined to think those reviewers got caught up in the hype. Because if you like Elric (I do!) and you don't have a dud figure he's probably the best Elric we'll ever get, so I understand the hype. And everyone on this board who got a good one has been very happy with him. If mine had been less tetchy I'd have given him a SOLID 8.5 or 9 - not "figure of the year" hype but "this guy's just gonna live on my shelf forever" good.

Did success go to their heads? Why is Harvinger being so fucking WEIRD right now?
I'm FASCINATED by how fucking weird they got the past few weeks. Is it success? It's giving incel manosphere energy and I don't like it at all. I mean as a sometimes marketing writer I find it really gross. (The fact that this is how they call you out if you don't check out on a purchase makes it feel stalker-y and weird, too - reminds me of that creepy AI marketing email I got to my author account a few weeks back that felt like "I'll be watching you").

Like truly in this business 90% of it is just not being a fucking weirdo and they are going full weirdo. I swear if they come out as like, full MAGA or something next week I wouldn't be shocked just because they're being so weird.

I have no idea what they are doing.

Here is what your customers need to know - can I buy your product or can I no longer buy your product?

Here is what they need to say: We know there is a lot of interest in Elric, but our company policy is not to produce more product after the initial run. Sorry if that is disappointing to many of you, but we hope you support us and find the figures we are bringing out lin the future of interest.

(Better written but to me that's it)

Or - We heard you and in this case we are going to make one more run!

@fac I think you nailed it right there - they're being weird and all they have to do is say something like a human. "Hey guys. Glad you many of you love this figure. We've established a policy that we won't do additional runs of existing figures, but we've got great stuff in the pipeline and we look forward to continuing to bring you awesome figures in the future. Join our newsletter or follow us on social media to stay tuned for future preorders so you never have to miss out!"

In plain English... Words matter just sounds, well, cunty.

Agreed. They're doing these daily definition posts which is just... hyper petty and condescending. A single text post saying what you fucking mean and then get on with it. Post some pics of your latest figures looking cool and hype up the one you're dropping soon.
Are we anticipating a new presale soon?
The red hand one, whatever it is, should be coming at the end of the month I think, assuming I understand what "exclusive Drop Figure" means. I think that means it's debuting at a show and will be available afterwards.

Yeah that's fair. Despite my qualms I'd still rate him pretty high too, he's definitely one if the best fantasy figures available right now imo.

On a lighter note after getting rid of some unwanted stuff I decided to pick up their other figures I was interested in to not have to pay above retail later, but some of them haven't shipped yet despite me ordering them days ago which is really annoying.
I think I'm most excited for the white lizard man JakeEkiss mentioned a few pages ago. I wish they'd hurry and send it. 😵‍💫

Could be the Piranha guys? They have on their timeline they would be on the water by the end of June. By their definition the presale is different from the preorder...

To be entirely fair... I've known plenty of artistic, creative types that are super fucking weird too. And I can absolutely see this type of nonsense 'in-universe' lingo talk coming from someone that is mostly just entirely up their own ass about their world building and 'gotta be different from a REGULAR company because REGULAR companies aren't artistic and shit like I am.'

But it is just... SO up its own ass.

And it's disappointing because I legitimately LOVE my SC figures and I don't want them to turn into a company whose products I do not want to buy. I have enough of those already.

I mean to be fair, you did sell like 27 board members on checking out Savage Crucible. They still owe you some kind of finder's fee.
