I know this will strike some as crazy, but I decided to write to SC and see if they'll swap me a Krieger for Elric. I really liked the idea of getting a Krieger at MSRP. If they don't have any left, I'll see if I can do a trade with someone for Krieger; and then selling it on eBay is the last resort.
That's what I would have done as well. Someone expecting their Elric may have just gotten a Krieger and be royally pissed!

All this time waiting on Elric and Fedex dropped my BBTS box (with three SC figures in it and some MOTU and Street Fighter stuff in it, too) at the wrong address. Fortunately (and hilariously) I could see it on my neighbor's back porch FROM MY OFFICE WINDOW so I just trudged over to get it. Hope the neighbor doesn't have web cams to get freaked out about it but a huge BIG BAD TOY STORE box is not something I want sitting on my neighbor's steps when they get home from work.

Genuinely hope it gets sorted for you. Such an absurd situation.

So my Elric came today but I'm at work👎 I'll post back later once I open him. Sadly the follow up order I dod hasn't even confirmed yet.
I've got my Shadow Slate coming in today and I'm ready to kit him out with all the spare gear I have. My Varnoks should be here Monday (though my guess is it'll actually be Saturday with how quick they've been moving).

I was bummed I didn't get the big claymore from Elric blind bag, I need to try and just buy one. 😵‍💫

I got Elric last night and as an outsider to this brand I think he's a bit of a mixed bag. I had to put him through so much abuse to get his scabbard reattached to his belt, and ultimately had to take him apart, and work it through the skirt armor separately. I had to put him through so much abuse I guess it's a testament to his build quality because I'm shocked he didn't break. His arm actually came out in the process and I thought it broke, but I think I reattached it? I hope it wasn't glued though and came apart.

His sculpt is beautiful but man, I feel bad, because my initial impressions from handling him is rough. I'm going to play around with him more and see if my opinion softens a bit in the light of day, rather than last night being irritated from work.

Got Elric, Brynyar, and Naraka from BBTS yesterday.

At the risk of pissing off the entire toy collecting community... I think Elric is INSANELY overhyped. He's a good figure. Nice head sculpt, armor looks good. The ruby ring on his left hand? Fuckin' beautiful bit of detail there.

But his arm articulation is ROUGH. My right arm also came out of the socket while just trying to get him warmed up into basic poses and while I popped it back in, it does not feel like it wants to stay there, and my biggest requirement for an action figure in any line is just... to stay together when posing him. The worst thing a figure can do is fall apart through basic use. (Okay, not moving at all is probably even worse, and Elric was TOUGH but a quick hot water bath fixed his frozen knees, ankles, elbows, and wrists). between the armor and the hair, his unmasked head has kinda limited ROM (neck ROM I'd say is usually one of the great strengths of Savage Crucible, too).

The butterfly shoulder joint has nice range and is very well hidden, but I lose a lot of the joy of that because the rest of his arm doesn't really want to do much. I can't get either lower part of the elbow to bend, so he's basically got 45 degrees on either arm. (I want to give him another hot water bath but again, don't want to fuck up the shoulders any more than they are.) The shoulder pauldrons are rubbery and awkward, but unlike some of the other figures in this line where I thought you could, in a bit of brilliant design, remove just a single piece of shoulder armor and really improve their ROM, he's only got bare shoulders under there. (I've pulled the top layer of armor off Jaeger, Who-Man, and Kreiger and REALLY liked a slightly less busy look for them.)

I mean honestly, he's fine - I think it's been the insane hype (and my own attachment to the character) that makes him a letdown. If I just bought him from a third-party seller with no hype he'd meet expectations.

Brynyar is exactly what you'd expect if you have Jaeger. The lynx head is great, love the hinged jaw, the ponytail is a very funny and very cool touch. I like his low-key swords. Mine does have a knee that's SUPER loose (the opposite of the strong ratchets on every other SC figure I have), but it's not bad enough it makes him hard to pose, so no complaints as long as it doesn't mean there's some structural problems inside that'll come up later.

Naraka was a pure impulse buy, shouldn't have done it, but of the three he's the strongest one. The half-mask/exposed skull look is INSPIRED. Nothing fancy about his buck or articulation but everything works really well, and I like the fire and ice elemental sword thing he's got going on. It's funny that of the three I got, the one I wanted the most let me down a bit but the one I kinda regretted buying is tough to stop posing.

And despite not being blown away, I went back and was thinking about picking up Veteris Rapax while he's in stock but went to bed before checking out and woke up to this email from Harvinger. I can't tell if it's funny or if it feels like a Linked In post.

You didn’t miss it.

You paused.

Your Savage Crucible items are still in your cart - waiting for a decision.

No reminders after this.

💯 this is my biggest complaint with 4HM products. It tanks the fun factor when the figure constantly falls apart during basic posing.

I find with 4H it's either "this figure doesn't want to move at all because he's glued together by extra paint" or "oops his whole ass upper body fell off?"

I'm a simple man. "Give me a figure that works as intended" is truly all I ask. I'm easily entertained.

I'm bummed your experience hasn't been great with Elric. I'm not sure if I've been lucky but aside from him being a little stiff I haven't had any issues with any of my SC guys so far, but I know how fast that can cool you on a figure. I'm terrified of touching my LC werewolf because I had to get a replacement part for him when one of his legs just twisted right off on first time touching him.

Yeah, even if he'd shown up stiff or not super posable I wouldn't have been as put off, but having him out of the box two minutes and holding his right arm in my hand tanked him. And I'm holding him to a higher standard because every other SC figure I've bought has been a little stiff at first but otherwise top-shelf quality. And I really can't seem to get his up-down hinge in either shoulder to loosen up, which of course makes the likelihood of pulling his arm off again much more likely, so he's gone from most-wanted figure of the year to probably just going back in his box.

I think this is just a case where you got a bad figure (like, specific figure with a specific QC failure, versus it being something widespread). Stupid question but have you contacted Harvinger about it? For all their stupid bullshit, I don't think I've heard any complaints about how they handle customers with QC issues or order problems.
