McFarlane DC Multiverse

It’s kind of ironic that by the time it’s all said and done, McFarlane will have an impressive roster of female characters. I’m not happy to see that Arisia is going to be a Page Puncher though. I was hoping that I was done with that after Miss Martian.

Female figures in this line have truly run the gamut between amazing (Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic) to terrible (Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow movie). Hope the last several err on the side of the former.

So apparently Todd showed no new DCM on IGN last night. Just Helldivers and Fallout.

We have three sale dates this week. One unknown item tomorrow. One unknown item on Thursday. And on Friday, the Supergirl movie statue goes on sale. It’s also Target Geek Out week two. McFarlane is supposed to have something for this week, but we still don’t know what it is.

It’s getting frustrating to see all of these rumors stacking up with no new reveals coming. As we edge closer and closer to Todd’s inevitable exit.

Being mysterious isn’t gaining you anything at this point Todd.

As objective as I can be, the best female in this line has been the Drowned. A creative design followed by a magnificent sculpt. Of a character that ultimately no one cared about. A figure that peg warmed for months. Years in some places. Still one of my favorites for the pure artistry of some of those early sculpts.

The Vault figgers are up for pre-order on June 11. Tomorrow might be something other than DC. I think sports figgers are being released for the Target Geek Out. I haven't heard anything about DC figgers for Target Geek Out.

I'm sorry all of this is frustrating to you. I'm more of wait and see kind of person. I don't understand worrying about stuff you no control over. I read the rumors and go on with things until I see the actual product. Besides, there has been road construction in my neighborhood since January and I have no idea when it will end. I'm more focused on trying to get out of my neighborhood without sitting in traffic or avoiding potholes.

Real world definitely overrides action figures. I live in an area where the cones never go away, they just relocate a few miles down the interstate.

I know shit happens. Manufacturing hiccups, cargo ship delays, delays at the ports, etc. I get it. My frustration comes from just wanting to get on with it. This is coming to an end no matter how much you delay the official announcements and reveals. Dragging your feet isn’t guerrilla marketing anymore. Out of sight, out of mind. People are getting bored and you’re losing whatever relevance you still have. Maybe potential sales too. Mattel is definitely ascendant.

People wanna be excited about the last six months of the license. And you’re fucking it up Todd.

I'd really like an Absolute Batman, so if the Elite edition comes with a ton of stuff, I can see getting it. (I was almost in for the Hot Toys version, but don't want to start going down the comic-based rabbit hole with that line.)

I'd like to see a crazy wired cape and maybe a plastic molded version as well that could get into some of the strange positions as in the comic, a removable axe, and spikes you can remove, at the very least. Definitely don't want a reused DKR body, though. He needs to be bigger with the proper Dragotta Anime-inspired proportions.

Definitely curious about the Absolute and Unmasked Keaton figures. Will need to see how they look.

Was really hoping for a Schumacher Bane before the line ended, but this feels like the last set of reveals. Can’t imagine they’ll be putting too much new stuff out in July through December as they try to unload old stock.

Still patiently awaiting a comic Ivy over here...

But come on - these figures leak and then drop with Todd's two month assembly-line-to-store-shelf turnaround. There are MONTHS of product ready to release or about to.

That Batman looks like it has the same plastic cape.
If you happen to see the Golden Age Batman at Target, I think it's $25.

I'm glad they are doing more vault figures. I missed out on the Comedian Joker. I didn't realize it was a Gamestop exclusive at the time and I think I kept waiting to see if I would find it in the store or on sale. Aside from platinum figures I would like to see SDCC Collector Edition Beast Boy, Page Punchers Dawn of DC Shazam & Digital Silver Age Hal Jordan.

Not from the vault per se but they should re-release any army builder figures for those who like them. I'm thinking the Green Lantern Corps or Manhunters.
Aw well. Plastic cape means it’s a pass.
I found the Golden Age Batman at an out-of-town Walmart today for $25. I thought it was a GameStop exclusive.

Am I the only one left who prefers the plastic capes? I rarely can get a fabric one to look good, and I hate the way the upturned collars look - Obsidian looks like he has Princess Leia buns.

I just bought a Classic Smiling Superman because of the smile but also because I liked the drape of his cape.
