Marvel Legends Two-Packs

But are we considering foreshortening here? Wolverine looks huge here, and that's probably because he's meant to be positioned closer to the viewer. There's no real way to tell how close each character is to the viewer besides overlap. In that case, Emma looks too small here. Colossus is possibly furthest back, but may or may not be right next to Kitty. Wolverine is a few feet in front of them. Beast looks further behind Scott as well.
I did not. With how big Astonishing Wolverine is, I'm going to assume that Hasbro didn't consider foreshortening, at all, either.

Just finished opening a bunch of deluxe two packs that have come out within the last two years that I’ve just been shoving aside ever since I suffered a spinal cord injury in April 2024. After opening these sets, (along with 18 other figures) I’m starting to feel like the glut of accessories that come packaged in these 2-packs are the biggest barrier to entry for novice toy collectors

If it bothers me too much I'll have to paint Kitty. I'm not sure I'd wanna do a leg swap, cause at least she matches the other Kitty in height, even if it is wrong. Uniformity, I guess.

Huh? How so? How would *less* stuff be a barrier to entry for anyone?

Guess Deathbird was your favorite of them all?

I said “glut” of accessories. As in an abundance. Case in point, amongst the packs I opened today were Madam Masque & Crossbones, Triton and Blackbolt, Gorgon and Medusa, Gambit and Rogue and Punisher and Bushwacker. There are sooo many accessories that came with these 2-packs I’m looking at nearly 40 accessories amongst five 2-packs. It’s ridiculous. I guarantee you that I’m not even going to see these again once I put them in a bin for safekeeping

Meh. People can complain about the modern Wolverine figures we’ve seen from Hasbro as much as they want but I still site the ML series III Wolverine from the early toy biz years as the worst offender along with the early movie figures. That figure was so awful it damn near made me quit collecting when I was in my late teens. I mean I know they were clearly going for the Alex Ross vibe with the hyper realistic details but yikes. Next to pretty much everything that has come out since then, that figure stands out as a cautionary tale.

Also the Face-off first appearance wolvie was pretty bad. I purchased two of those figs and the arms sheared off at the bicep swivel each time

It looks more like each character was likely drawn separately and then added to the overall picture. Beast is shorter than Logan while hunched. Plus Logan's foot is just barely in front of Kitty's so I don't see much foreshortening in the pic. It reminds me of clip art given that they're lined up like a police lineup.

Ahh, I read glut as a negative.

The Astonishing figs have been weirdly-scaled across the run. Cyke and Emma too small, Wolvie and Kitty too big and then Colossus and Beast may be just right.

That's not a great track record ESPECIALLY when three of the four worst were new sculpts.

They got it perfectly 2, 2, and 2.. It's honestly impressive how consistent they are in being shitty.

I received the Astonishing Kitty Pryde and Colossus set today. Colossus turned out great. Hasbro is really getting good at this chroming technique. I know or can’t be electroplated because it’s still just plastic but I’ll be damned if it didn’t achieve the same results. I’m also quite pleased with Kitty Pryde. She looks like she’s clearly based on John Cassaday’s work. So does Colossus for that matter. Nice set glad I didn’t skip

Got an email from Amazon tonight saying the Black Widow/Quicksilver 2-pack will be delivered April 25th.

Hasbro’s “fuck the release schedule” practice continues.
