Masters of the Universe: Origins

My Despara figure is on the move too! Also, I got "Processing soon" e-mails for the next Wave of Cartoon Origins from BBTS today. The Wave with Fang Man, Orko, and Grizzlor. I ordered 2 Orko's so I could make Uncle Montork too.

Definitely have to keep eye on the Target Summer Geek Out. I think it starts June 13 (a Friday) and I know the first one on the 13th is McFarlane Toys. It's Batman The Animated Series Figures. So, us MOTU collectors are safe that day as far as MOTU goes.

It's funny, I was looking at in-stock stuff on EE last night and was like - wait, did I NOT order Grizzlor and Orko from the cartoon collection? And then BBTS send arriving soon notifications. Like I know myself, if there's a MOTU figure I know I want, I'll just order it so I don't forget later, but zero memory of that preorder.

You have no memory, because it's second nature. It's just so natural for you to order MOTU toys you do it by reflex with your brain on autopilot. You have no memory of doing it, yet you can be certain you did. That's fandom mother f*****!

Dammit! The one time I don't preorder from BBTS. I quickly put an order in just now and hope I make the cut but if I don't I need for everyone to not post that you got yours because I'll be sad. I want Grizzlor so much.

I'd say you'll make the cutoff no problem. You'll be receiving this Wave right with the rest of us. We'll all be chalk full'o Grizz in no time.

If you can't get it from BBTS, EE does have both him and Orko in stock and they're running a 15% off in-stock sale until the end of the day today.

It IS second nature, but also right around the time these guys came out I'd stopped preordering ALL Origins because I was getting overwhelmed. But also Orko and Grizzlor are two favorites so I was like, no way I'd skip them. I did skip Fang Man and a few other snake folks though.
(Ru has been rightfully busting my balls for a year now that I forget about preorders. I deserve all the mockery I get though, I forget a LOT of preorders.)

One time very briefly I started keeping a spreadsheet to keep up with preorders. The mistake happened when I auto summed the price column out of curiosity. I deleted it soon after.

Nope! It was sobering and I came to my senses briefly for a few seconds right before I deleted it and tried to erase it from my mind too.

I fed my Star Wars, Marvel Legends, Mythic Legions, and Joes Classifieds into one of those websites that calculates what you paid vs. what they go for now and I was so ashamed I never want to look back again. Although I did see that were I to ebay my entire collection and get the average going rate, I'd turn a modest profit. But I could also have paid off last year's home repairs...

I have often wondered where I would be these days if my best friend hadn't given me that ML series 2 Thing that got me started back into collecting action figures as an adult.

I blame Todd McFarlane. His detailed "kewl" stuff started coming out when I was like 12, so I never stood a chance...

I blame my overspending on action figures on a ) a house fire that wrecked all the stuff I owned as a kid and b ) I sold a comic book series back in 2013 and suddenly I was like "oh, this is a pROfessIONal eXPEnse" and never slowed down. (I did NOT make enough off the sale to justify what I spend on action figures.)

I got Despara in the mail. This figure looks a lot cooler in hand then it did on Mattel Creations site. Not that her pics on the site weren't cool, it's just that in hand this figure really stands out. It's far more impressive than I expected.

I always liked the MOTU Classics Despara, and I really like this one too. Mattel is 2 for 2 on Despara toys.
