for Starhawk!
I think $40 was about my upper limit for standard OMF figures. I may pick up some of the named characters it they got a bit higher but I don't think I'd go for the generic army builder types.
Yeah as a serious army builder, I really hate how they price them because they are way too expensive to really army build but they also insist that more than half the line should be army builders.I think $40 was about my upper limit for standard OMF figures. I think the mundaneness is part of the problem for the reuse. A line about monsters should have more variety and it feels kinda lacking there.I find that last perspective interesting because having wave one in hand I find the figures better than anything I got from Valaverse and on par with (or better than) Mythic Legions fom a quality perspective. The reuse in Mythic Legions is super prevalent and common too, but I suppose easier to swallow because there is a bigger parts library and its less mundane?
Anyway... I really, really like what I've got so far. I'm not a completist for FMF... but I'm way more interested in buying what they are offering me at this point than Vala or the 4H. It will be interesting to see what the next round of solicitations looks like though.
Red Shadow figures drew me in as well as a big red shadows fan, but I will say my enthusiasm for the sleepwalkers was quoted muted by the time they arrived because of the crimson moon wave.I totally get that... for me its the integration into my G.I. Joe universe that was the initial draw. They had the Red Shadow homage figures that drew me in and then I fell i love with the rest of it and made them integratable into my greater G.I. Joe display and story.
The same way I integrate my Thundercats, Conan, Silverhawks and others into my greater MOTU classics display, the FMF figures, along with Valaverse and some others get worked in to my Joe Classics.
We'll see if I have to get a tad more selective depending on how high the price increases get. But I do love what FMF are doing.
Yeah I feel like that can be the risk with an indie line.
We don’t really have the nostalgia connection to them that gives them the relevance to stay on display after the initial wow factor wears off.

I agree. I’d rather buy 3 bare bones troopers at a lower price than the 1 I’ve been buying. They are too costly for easy building. The General figure is the same thing for me. I wouldn’t mind getting one for each head but at $40 each, that’s too much. $25 with just one head and a couple of hands would get me to buy multiples. Not every figure should be fully kitted out. I’d like them to cut back some packing them so full and maybe push the accessory packs more. Even $30 each with a single accessory pack purchase would be better than having 3 extra heads of 3 different heads that we’re currently forced into if we want to troop or character build.Yeah as a serious army builder, I really hate how they price them because they are way too expensive to really army build but they also insist that more than half the line should be army builders.
They could really benefit from taking the legions builder approach to some of their stuff. I’m still shocked at the price of Soldiers of Fortune considering it’s all reuse and meant to compete with Valaverse presumably.
