G.I. Joe Classified - News & Updates

Oh oh, and also, really love it when you can see on camera that the platform they're putting the figures on is some sort of warped board and they complain about how "the figure won't stand". My guy when you put the figure down I can see he "ground" move a quarter of an inch. Get a fucking countertop.

One of my friends always gets pissed off at YouTubers because I'm able to make everything stand first go, even like one-footed kicking. I can do the J Hernandez balance. So then they'll watch a review, complain that it can't stand, and I'll say oh I just picked up that figure at EB, and show it doing all these crazy stands.

It's weird it's a skill set but. Apparently it's a skill set.

These fuckin' reviewers pay extra to get stuff early so they can be 'first' on YouTube, right? It seems like there's a select few guys on YT that always have these figures weeks before I see any other dedicated non-YT collectors talk about getting them or seeing them in store.

Yeah I saw he had issues with the pouch or whatever. But he's fat fingering it so much I'm not convinced that's not just him. Either way, not enough it'll stop me from grabbing it. This subline kinda has me by the balls.
Yeah, he looks really dope. I don't know, if I see him in the wild maybe. From my purposes, not a need, but a very high quality cool looking dude.

I have some anime D cup girl with a wasp butt to buy.

My wife used to collect action figures when they were more in the staction days of like early DST (specifically - because she had tons of Buffy and Stargate toys). Part of what really got her out of action figures was the move to more articulation because she is, self-admittedly, absolutely terrible at posing and getting figures to stand. For a brief time, she kept collecting modern figures and would just ask me to 'deal with it.' It was adorable and hilarious.
And it's weirdly ego-gratifying to hear how good you are at posing toys. Although, to be fair, I -AM- pretty good at it.

This guy in particular is from Australia. And they tend to get Hasbro stuff early because it's in that Asian corridor.

I believe he gets most of his stuff from the Australian EB, when I watched it regularly as background noise. There might be some Philippines store he sources on occasion.

The one I don't f****** understand is prime versus Prime. I think he's British, generic British YouTuber, but he always gets his Transformers ahead of even some of the Asian channels. I don't know what his deal is.

I'll never buy these releases at full price because they're just way too expensive
These guys are where I burn all my Amazon credit. I don't think I've paid full price for any of them. Closest was the Firefighter but I felt that was totally worth it.

Bare-fucking-minimum is getting a figure in a mid-stride pose. Bare minimum. And it's *not* hard. Like, dude figures? I don't think I've found one I can't pose well. The women are a little harder because they often have little pin feet (the ones in heels anyway). Even so, I see folks complain about posing and it's clear they just suck at it.

Well sure, you gotta have priorities.

Maybe it's being an artist, but even if I want to have someone like Mary Jane just standing there, I can find that gesture line for attitude and weight balance. And maybe that feeds the drawing which then feeds back into the toys etc.

The closest I've ever done was straight up. Vanilla posing was my Stormtrooper platoon all holding their rifles at the ready, and I had a bunch of retro troopers and vipers at parade rest because those Cobra Island ones really couldn't do anything else because I found the vests got in the way of any cool weapon handling. And the legs sucked.

Well goddamn, I just want some damn pictures. I have neither time nor patience for these videos.

This does look awesome, though, maybe the coolest of the “generic war guys” they’ve done so far. Like these guys will totally be getting destroyed by zombies and mutant scorpions and dinosaurs and denizens of Cobra-La, but they will look super-cool getting destroyed.

Ooh, Navy SEALs.

I kinda like the head canon that all of these generic dudes are those who have been called up from active service to become Joes, but haven't proved themselves yet and earned a code name (and therefore haven't earned the right to -really- customize their gear and uniform yet).

Me too!
One of the only decent ideas from Devil’s Due was treating the “Greenshirts” that way.

Having been more into TFs in previous years I know there is some animosity in the TF community, especially Youtubers, towards Prime Vs. Prime. Some of the complaints range from getting stuff early to not really having a deep knowledge of the characters and lore.

From what I have seen/heard he apparently pays a pretty penny to people in Asia to get the products early to get the first reviews.

Yeah, I don't particularly enjoy him. He's kind of samey and every frickin' figure is... Well now I forget what he actually says but he has a go-to phrase for "so close but not but good enough."

When they start breaking it down into a formulaic mad lib, they lose me. D Amazing with the deeply critical "some may like it, some may not." Riveting.

But he does get things 3 months before I get to see, so he gets me there.
