NECA Mirage Comics line

Do they still sell these Mirage figures at GameStop?

Not sure about America, but in Canada EBGames does. This is not a flex, I'm just imagining GameStop must also.

Just this morning I walked in and found the Shredder two pack, and the entire roster of Lost Years turtles.

Had to grab Shredder. Strangely they still haven't had April even though they've had all the other Haulathon figures come through. I know she's available to order elsewhere but I got to get my 15% off.

I don't go into GameStop too often, but I definitely have not seen anything NECA in a store for quite some time. I usually just see Hasbro, McFarlane, and Jakks.

I stopped into a local Target and found 2 Leatherheads and 3 Super Turtles on the shelves.
I wasn't planning on buying this Leatherhead (waiting to see if NECA does a 2012 version), but at the price for his size, I couldn't resist with him right in front of me

I realized there was another reason I picked up Leatherhead yesterday.

I was in a TMNT calendar I had years ago, and once the year ended, I took it apart and framed a number of the pieces in it, including this one. Not 100% 1 to 1 translation, but it gets the feeling across with the Mirage turtles we have right now.

Found it

Looks like it’s from issue #6 of the Tales of the TMNT comic from August 1988 and was drawn by Jim Lawson so that’s definitely fits squarely in the mirage space.

I was rewatching Veebs' Neca NYTF walkthrough just now and had completely forgotten that we had Stan Sakai Turtles coming. In the video Trevor mentions they are due this summer as individual Ultimates so I guess unless they got pushed back that should be popping up in the next few months.

Definitely want the four. Was there a new Usagi coming with them?

I love the look of those Stan Sakai turtles. Really hoping the price isn't insane.

Remember this question is coming from someone whose main intro and interest in Turtles is the 87 cartoon, but the Stan Sakai Turtles did still fall under the Mirage banner didn't they? Or did I just totally post this in the wrong thread.

They all originated as comics characters, close enough for me. I think the Usagi Yojimbo comics have had multiple publishers over the years, I'd assume Mirage was one of them at some point though?

If these turtles were more closely tied to the mirage verse then I suspect that the turtles would retain their red bandanas because that was pretty much the default look all the way up to end of the mirage publishing division. But the Yojimbo comics was its own inherently self published and self titled anthology series featuring Usagi and only occasionally crossed over with the turtles. The art style and influences are definitely more like Stan Sakai but the turtles lack the grittiness of the B&W comic. And the multi colored headbands are curious…I’m wondering if these are meant to be based on the Archie one shot from around 1992? I remember seeing a book like that in one of my very first visits to a comic book shop. I didn’t buy it but I remember flipping through the book and these turtles with the Chibi inspired designs look familiar, as does Usagi and I vaguely recall that being from an Archie book but it wasn’t from the main Archie series at the time.

I was treating them more as Sakai n appearance than any particular TMNT look, but I definitely had the most recent crossover from IDW top of mind when I saw them:
