Toy Fair International - February 14-17 2026

It's supposed to be 46 degrees and partly cloudy in New York this Saturday. It looks like Toy Fair attendees have lucked out. No polar vortex for them this year.

I still to this day have no idea why Toy Fair is held on the eastern seaboard in February. If you must have it in February, wouldn't a warm weather city like Miami, Las Vegas, San Diego or Phoenix make more sense?
Probably the same reason so many geeky events happen in Vegas every summer. I bet it's way cheaper to rent out huge amounts of space during the extreme weather months for those areas.

But bear in mind that Toy Fair is not a fan event, it's an industry trade show. It'll be mostly industry big wigs and members of the press.

I just googled "why is toy fair held in New York" and this is what came up:

Toy Fair is held in New York City because of its historical roots as the central hub for the American toy industry, dating back to 1903, and its continued status as a premier global marketplace. The city serves as a key location for connecting international manufacturers, buyers, and media, particularly at the Javits Center, which hosts the event to showcase thousands of new products and trends.

Well, okay. Fair enough. But why February? Why not April or May?

I guess the world will never know.

I think it's in February because, historically, companies would sell products that would be delivered for the holiday shopping season. As for location, they tried moving it out of NY a few years ago and got a ton of pushback from attendees. Apart from the weather, I think NY is just an easy location for industry people to get to and they have no desire to move it. It's a work event for them, but the organizers would like to turn it into a comic con like event. I hear it's also very easy to attend if you just have a website or YouTube channel. I bet Articulated Thoughts could get a press pass or whatever they call it if it was something the owners wanted to do.

That's insane. Luckily the regular kids' version is still available. Why does the "premium role play" version have HULK written on the back of his wrists? Did I forget about some tattoos he picked up at some point?

"Premium Role Play" and it's identical to the normal roleplay toys, just bigger... If I punch somebody with it will they die? Now THAT would be a premium roleplay experience!

Since we're getting, I believe, two reveals and the tease meant for the live-stream at Toy Fair, I'm curious what those would end up being. More comic-based X-Men and classic comic Spider-Man figures would be cool, but I'm also hoping to see some more figures of Avengers, Fantastic Four and Hulk characters. Maybe we could see the rumored Mole Man and a Hulk wave character?

Also, I agree with BasilElks and MentalManipulator on the Retro/Classic X-Men wave. I've never been a fan of noseless/bone claws Wolverine, but the ideas for the roster is so perfect that we all know Hasbro would never have them all in the same wave in a million years. Knowing Hasbro, maybe they'd do an "X-Men Classics" wave of Juggernaut, Psylocke (also repainted as Elektra), Wolverine, Nightcrawler and Gambit or an "X-Men Classics" wave of Beast, Cyclops, Gambit, Magneto, Storm and Wolverine like Toy Biz did in the '90s instead.

Don't be silly. everyone is going to die because the "premium" part you are paying $110 for is the Gamma Radiation infused into the fists. So technically, yes, if you punch someone they'll die, but like I said so will you and everyone around you as you swing your Gamma irradiated fists around.

Whoa...wait a minute! Are you telling me that exposure to Gamma rays WON'T turn me into a giant, muscled monster? Are you saying the comics have LIED to me???

They already shared the teaser, it looks like the underside of a manhole cover that people seem to believe is hinting at Mole Man.

Beyond that, yes, I expect the reveals to be Hulk figures. Smart Hulk seems like a given. Hulk 2099 and Doc Samson seem the next most likely. There's supposed to be Cosmic Hulk coming too, but I don't know if that's the same wave or different.

I was exposed to Grandma Rays, so now I'm an excellent baker, especially of cakes, and cookies. ;) :P lol
I would have thought that Ratatouille would have been your food power after exposure. (Bonus points to anyone who can connect the random reference I just made).

When do we get premium role play Jack of Hearts playing cards that just happen to come with a Jack of Hearts figure?
Premium Role Play Marvel Oceanographer set complete with a Stingray figure?
Premium Role Play Herpetologist set that comes with a bunch of Serpent Society figures?
Premium Role Play Mini Marvel Occultist set that comes with Nightmare and Baron Mordo?
Premium Role Play Junior Jonathan Harker Vampire Killer set with 1st appearance Blade and Colan Dracula?

I want an actual working Ultimate Nullifier so I can take it to the White House and use it on some people.

Oh, I bet I get a visit from the Secret Service for that.
