Action Force and Valaverse

Bobby may be petty and egotistical, most of these big brands we talk about on here are much more soulless and evil just IMO.

It's a false equivalency, is the problem. How many people work at Hasbro? What percentage of your yearly Joe purchases go to the CEO? If you spend 100,000 dollars on Joe toys in a YEAR, you haven't even paid Lenny's wage yet. The idea that there is no ethical consumption under Capitalism was never intended to be an ad-hoc excuse to do nothing, or support the worst people. A giant company with 5000 employees is a different beast in every category than a mom-and-pop shop without the mom.

You can give your money to a company that disperses that revenue across hundreds of people, and has a shitty owner. Or you can give ALL of that money directly to a shitty owner. The choice should be clear. The only thing making it muddy is 'but I want the toys.' That is literally the beginning and end of the rationale. And it is what it is. Everyone gets to make their own choices. I just wish people would be honest about the choices they're making. Call a spade a spade.

It's more than just the owner. If we really wanted to get into it, generally-speaking I'd choose to support a private toy company over a public one. Yes my example was using the CEO, but the entire business, in a loose but literal sense, has only the job of appeasing the share holders, by any legal means necessary. You're talking about supporting the big guy over the little guy is a clear choice, and I just don't agree because "shitty" isn't a strong enough word for it. It would take someone way worse than "jerk" behavior to get over that "but I want the toys" mindset.

Just because I feel it's necessary to say, we ALL have the "but I want the toys" mindset. Nobody needs these things. The money could be used better in society if we want to go there.

The vast majority of equity in a public company like Hasbro goes tp investors and execs; in the best case, lower level employees collectively get a fraction of a percent. And as much as you might hate Vala, I don't thknk there is a question that Hasbro execs do more harm and are more horrible individuals. I don't think it is at all clear that giving money to Hasbro is a more moral consumption choice than buying Valaverse product.

100%. I was not intending to exclude myself. I have tons of toys. I've supported lots of shitheads. I just don't pretend I'm not making the choice to do that with all this bullshit whataboutism.

Ultimately what's killing me buying the one thing I still buy from this line won't be Bobby being some special kind of asshole, but just because I can never stop HEARING about the petty pissant he is. He's so fucking LOUD. Maybe I've missed stuff, but the lawsuit is the first thing I've seen that's more than just a version of Bobby mouthing off. I don't think I've heard of him putting his money towards wrecking somebody else before. That is a phase change.

Good news is there's folks in the space now doing his moves as well or better. BigBadWorkshop, presuming all the OMF and upcoming stuff is as good as the Blackwatch Agent and General I got, is eating Bobby's lunch in quality. I like their designs better and they're doing wacky stuff as a matter of course where Bobby always seems embarrassed by it. They've got Soldiers of Fortune and NPC lines coming which will have good weapon sculpts from Gridiron. I suspected I would switch to them anyway when all that was online, but honestly he's just making it easier.

Are Gridiron's non Workshop guns durable?
I think they're all 3D printed, so tend to be less durable than production pieces. Maybe more like early/mid-2000s McFarlane accessories in terms of brittleness. To my understanding. I don't own any.
Workshop doesn't have weapon sets so far. They've got those character upgrade sets, but those also have heads and other gear in addition to a couple of weapons.

Does Workshop not do weapon kits?

Do they just want us to go to Gridiron? Does Gridiron offer big kits like this?

Workshop has done a couple of weapon kits for OMF: https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/252835
The sculpts are good and if you get those they are injection molded and not 3d printed.

Going direct through Gridiron is cost prohibitive, but so long as they're providing gun sculpts for BBWS, then I suspect the Workshop arsenal will fill out nicely.

I’m kinda surprised this story has taken off because this is kinda old news and Bobby has even mentioned doing some legal action on the show.

Like we’ve kinda alluded to, there were some legitimate reasons legal action was involved.

I wish the hisstank action force thread was still available so people could see how disgusting that thread got and what he was one of the ring leaders of. It was close to 2500 pages of just vile and a lot of people using alts and people that didn’t even like gi Joe. Just gross

Yeah I have enough enough hesitance with any 3D printed small things like miniatures. I don't want to risk it with weapons. I actually like the Hasbro gummy ones, I just straighten them out with the old hot and cold.

Yeah, I don’t trust gridirons vehicles. I have seen a few with printing issues that didn’t get addressed (like unfinished pieces) and some of their cannons and stuff have warped and drooped.

I don't care about Bobby as much as I care about making judgments about people based on half the information.
Who is doing that? Who are you assuming has only half the information? Bob's fallout with that Kenny dumbass is pretty well known at least going back to when they had that weird drunken run-in and Kenny felt the need to post about it, with video. They're both idiots. Bob is still a massive cunt, and suing a dude you're having a petty, goofy little beef with because neither of you can be adults for ten seconds is just -more- of Bob being Bob. It's not a defense of Kenny. It's an indictment against Mr. Vala ever being able to be the adult in the room.

I mean a lot of people are learning about it and getting most of the story from Kenny’s go fund me
