General Marvel Legends

my theory on this is he probably grew up with Adam West and Yvonne Craig, so like. yeah if that's a big moment in your growing up, i get it
That's certainly possible...but even then I don't remember West and Craig having a flirty relationship.
HOWEVER

He's the one that chose to write Babs as same age as Dick and the daughter Batman's so called best friend.
Exactly.
I hate the idea of Bruce and Babs with a passion. It's completely against Batman's character.

Did the two have a fling in the 66 TV show? I never got that deep.
I only ever remember there being a flirtatious relationship between Batman and Catwoman on the show, but it's certainly possible I'm remembering that incorrectly.

it think it's more simply that young Bruce timm could have had a crush on Yvonne Craig batgirl

cause all evidence points to Bruce Timm kind of hating Catwoman
That makes sense....Timm is inserting himself into the Batman role, and thinking of Craig as Batgirl. Of course, he based Babs on her post-crisis origin, making her much closer to Dick's age, so.....ewwww.

That's the sort of level I wish comic books stayed at. I don't really think it adds much to have Bruce unzipping Selena's outfit on some rooftop. That isn't meant to be prudish as much as I feel comics, like Star Wars and some other things, are fine to keep things implied so that a pre-teen can read it and not be presented with stuff they aren't really thinking about themselves just yet.
And I want to emphasize my desire for less overt sex in my superhero comics is not primarily rooted in a desire to protect kids but rather that I feel most of the time its included to be provocative or salacious and is unnecessary and I would personally prefer not to see it there.
That's fair. I'm on the other end of it; I like to be titillated. Eroticism is a lot more relatable to me than walloping Doc Ock. Then again, I'm the guy who reads X-Men comics for the team dynamics.

Or maybe I'm just a sex pervert.

The painted widow's peak to make his mask heart shaped is the weakest sauce. The rest of it is fine for a re-color. I'm sure someone will grab it, but yeah, I wouldn't pay full price for it.

Is there another kind of pervert?

To me, it seems like something they're counting on non-collectors to get for their significant others who may be a collector, or non-collecting nerd (NCNs), action movie fan, etc.
That is indeed the hope, though it's probably going to be sold in mostly collector spaces. Again, best of luck to them.

Again, best of luck to them.

Ahhh the old “is this eroticism, or is this salacious” debate. Yeah, I feel this one. Of course, I think something can be erotic *and* salacious, but let’s leave that aside for now.
Eroticism, I am very much into, or at least my own brand of same. Salaciousness, not so much. But who’s to say which is which? As a horror movie guy, I’d say the sexy stuff in The Hunger is erotic, the sexy stuff in the Friday the 13th movies is salacious. I’d say the Hellraiser series (the good ones anyway) is erotic, AND some folks would say they are salacious. But when it comes to movies, I am definitely NOT into salacious stuff, which makes the horror genre tough, because I LOVE erotic horror and the line is razor thin.

Now in literature, that’s where I go all-in on erotica and also don’t mind salaciousness. I read the Hot Blood anthology series like six times, all the books through. But for me, the “theatre of the mind” feels less icky, even if my imagination goes far harder than any visual image ever could.

I will say that when it comes to comic books, I don’t tend to find much eroticism there, and plenty of salaciousness. Like I didn’t find 90s “pin-up” comic art to be erotic in the least. I purposefully read a lot of salacious comics in the 90s (I was a teenager, and they were mostly titles like “Vamperotica” 🫠 and I would DEFINITELY have watched vampire porn if I had access to it at the time 🤷‍♂️), but the only actually erotic comics I can think of from that era [that I read] were the Innovation adaptations of Anne Rice stuff, ohh and some indie stuff like Dhampyr which probably no one read but me.

Ultimately I think the “problem” is patriarchal dominance of culture and the “male gaze” that comes with it. I freely admit that it’s hard (though not impossible, especially if it’s a queer-oriented perspective) for me to find something erotic if it is “seen” through the eyes of a male character or prioritizing a male perspective. Which may sound odd (it does to me!) given that I am a heterosexual male who is seemingly mostly internal with my genderqueerness, but it’s true. And comics, especially the “sexy” comics I grew up on, definitely always felt aggressively “male gaze”, and that did always make me feel uncomfortable, even at an age where I had a hard time controlling impulses to engage with “sexy” stuff.
