X-Men '97

I have a feeling the reason why we are seeing the classic Byrne era costumes is because there is a small sect of elder millennials and Gen-X who want to see a mulligan on Pryde of the X-Men. We were reared on the X-Men Arcade after all.

If they want to go that rout (they will eventually) no mulligans are needed. They are six reissues and some new packaging away from making a full blown X-Men arcade game wave. It's going to happen.

The new/retro costumes are just an easy and perfectly logical way to sell more figures. If they’re doing different storylines as quickly as they have been, then I expect to see more costume changes.

Yeah, see, I'm already rethinking passing on the new waves because I just saw a pic of season 2 Jubilee in hand and her head looks really, really good.

My only comfort is to tell myself that X-Men are the only corner of the Marvel universe that I'm this big a whore for. I can walk away from Spider-Man, Avengers, FF, anything else with just one good version of a character.

I found five of the reissue Wolverine figures at Target. I wasn’t sure if I needed an extra, even though I really like the figure. I’m glad I did pick up one though because the next time I went there they were gone. I think I’m going to put the unmasked head from the upcoming two-pack on the extra one.
And just a side note, this is possibly the first time that the Target app was correct about something being in-stock at my local store. It even had the number right!

Looks like the Sentinel has been pushed back to mid December. I honestly don’t remember what the original release date was.

I have them marked as shipping October 1st in my preorder spreadsheet. I'm not mad about the delay, lots of stuff should be releasing in the next few months and I don't mind spacing it out. I ordered three because I was an optimistic young fool back in October 2024 who didn't realize the world was going to fall apart.

Thank god. I just bought a fucking SnowCat, like ten G.I. Joes, like 200 dollars worth of books, some more SWB figures, and more Savage Crucible than I intended to get. And my wife has taken up trading card collecting. My wallet needs a break.

Wondering if we'll get a reissue/paint job of the arcade sentinels. That mold doesn't have much use elsewhere and there's a whole Power-Ranger rainbow of them in the game. I mean, I'm probably fine with the 4 I got. Probably...

Maybe they could release one of the Hellfire Knights with those big canons... I could use some more X-Men fodder.

Found a case of Cyclops reissue at EB today, and he was the last I needed, (just wanted Kurt and Rogue, etc. was skipping this series, you know how it goes), so I found the best own and leapt.

Lot of messed up X logos, but I got the good one. Fun figure to pose, what I expect should be a Hasbro standard pack out. Find his face a bit boyish, though? I think it's the chin.

Whatever, yet another Blue Team (mas y menos) complete.

I am totally fine with the Sentinel delay. I don't think I have any other preorders arriving in that time frame

Only thing I don’t like about the Sentinel delay is that it’s now expected right in the middle of the holiday shopping season. I usually avoid having things shipped in that window. I’d actually prefer a delay into January.

I forget, did we pay for the MTOs when we order or when they ship?
