X-Men '97

Sigh.
Or you could just hush yourself and save everyone the annoyance.

Whatever’s up with you this morning, go deal with it privately.
haha you guys deleted my posts that outlined the goal of stopping negative bullshit in favor of constructive conversation. Telling.

Nah, you didn’t have any posts that did what you say they did. The “negative bullshit”? Start with the man in the mirror, buddy.

I think Damian was trying to politely and subtly deter you from further nonsense.

Guess it didn’t work?

Stamp your feet all you want, pal. Tantrums are unproductive, but you do you.

If memory serves, didn't a toddler version of Val say that word to Franklin? While I don't remember specifics, I think Hickman said he used it in that context because it was the kind of terrible thing a toddler would pick up from others and use...because toddlers can be horrible. I'd say that sums it up right there...using that word as a slur is something a toddler would do. I certainly used that word when I was younger, but when I spent some time with some folks with Down Syndrome I realized how hurtful it could be, so I've removed it from my vocabulary. I don't say that as a holier-than-thou statement either...I admit to my previous failings and hope I continue to grow as a person. I hope more people will do that in our society. It makes all of us stronger if we are compassionate.

It's definitely a laughing fit. You left the second part of the deleted message in your quote, so... it existed. My goal is to discourage aimless arguments going nowhere or going to name calling (see... the cuckoo part) which doesn't seem so evil. If you hate that... dunno what to yell you.

My local store must have done its reset finally because they had a peg full of '97 Wolverine as well as numerous X-Factor Jean Greys and a couple Psylocke sets. If my store is any indication that Wolverine should not be hard to come by.

Enforcer, I like you...seriously, but you're not coming off well here. I *think* I get what you're trying to say, but it isn't playing the way you are thinking it does at all. I say this as someone who has always respected you for years, stop for a minute and really read what you're saying and how it is being perceived. Take a moment man...we all need to do that from time to time.

Valeria was young, but not exactly a toddler. But she’s also a genius, and was wise beyond her years. Which makes her use of the word that much more out of character. Hickman defended it, saying “that’s how kids talk”. In my opinion, that’s no excuse, and for him to double down on it is irresponsible. If you have a platform as public as comic books, you shouldn’t use it to promote the use of archaic and derogatory slang. I have not, and never will read a book that he authors again.

Ah, like I said...my memory on it is murky at best. Totally agree...that shouldn't be a word that is promoted in any way, especially in that manner. At the very least have Sue or Uncle Benjy take her to task for using that word...comic characters, especially heroes, need to set an example. I know most kids don't read comics anymore, but SOME do. A kid seeing something like that and thinking it is okay is...well...not okay.

Gambit could be the white suit from the "Remember It" episode. I'd be surprised if they had such a major spoiler for the second season in the first wave, unless that's like an episode 1 kind of thing (or just an admission that we all know where the story is going given the ending to season 1). They did let Hasbro blow the reveal of Goblin Queen, after all. Either way, very excited about Beast. We've had to wait too long going back to the VHS series for a proper animated Beast.

The Rogue and Gambit basketball 2-pack makes me dream of other sets with them:

Crop top Gambit became a meme and tuxedo Gambit became iconic because of its context, so I was a bit surprised they went with basketball, even though I'll be all over it.

Also, whoever suggested Trish Tilby with interchangeable Sentinel parts is a genius.

BEAST! Finally. As long as his Deluxe-ness is put on a RETRO CARD that matches the rest, please! No box for him. He needs to match the team.

There's no Wolverine in that line-up, which makes me question it. Yeah, Wave 2 didn't have him, but we know how he has to pop up in almost every wave, just like how he's in almost every comic.

Rogue's face in that screenshot in the pink dress is an exact match to the new head in the two-pack. Well done, Hasbro! Pretty please let it not be pinheaded like the regular release!!
