X-Men '97

Yeah, those pinned female legs are the absolute worst. I bought the retro card to replace it, not realizing the skin tones were quite different as I was hoping to do a head-swap. It just means animated Mystique has been returned to the VHS box from which she came. I could have ripped the hair off, but I didn't want to risk destroying it.

I picked up the Target retro Mystique secondhand and I wish I hadn't. Pinless limbs and double elbows, great, but that same horrible torso articulation. You just know she's getting another upgrade in the next few years with butterflies and a better torso.

And could they finally key-in her skirt for once?

But at this point she's a character from which I'm ready to move on. As soon as I customize the animated hair onto this one. :)

Just watched the first episodes of season two. Hasbro needs to announce Iike three waves of fighters immediately. This is a sublime of ML that should have major legs. Good opportunity to redo lots of X-Men characters.

I think this show will be my barometer for if Hasbro actually comes to play or not anymore.

It's free real estate. They're sitting there waiting to give you their money. Are you man enough to take it.

No spoilers in this post: I really enjoyed the first three episodes but it's funny that I do find myself looking for new characters/costumes I can fudge into my comic collection (like Magneto, Sunspot, and X-Cutioner from the earlier waves). The show shouldn't (and thankfully, doesn't) revolve around what toys they can sell but it's hard not to have that in the back of my mind.
