X-Men '97

Sounds like you don't actually want an Archangel figure and owning it wouldn't really make you happy.
It absolutely won't. It'll check a box and occupy the same space that the old one did in my display.

I have this conversation with myself all the time, particularly with my Avengers. I would have Cap, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, and Black Panther regardless. Maybe Black Widow. Vision, Scarlet Witch, and Hawkeye? Probably not, but I've dedicated a full shelf to the other five anyway, so what am I going to do? I may as well fill the space and bolster the team.

It makes the "what if I lost it all" hypothetical much easier to figure out, though.

As someone who wants representation of every Marvel character on the shelf, this is basically my entire collecting philosophy.
"Collect 'em all!"

Still rings in my actions if not in my head. But having almost all is so fun! I'm redoing some shelves and have a blank spot and I realized Robbie will go there shortly. GREAT!

Grabbed a cheap Wolfsbane recently to go with the upcoming X-Factor that is likely coming - already have the second Strong Guy and old Lorna/Havok figs in the display, and she wasn't rumored so now I'm ready.

Are my shelves too full? Probably. Would I want them less full? No way. And Archangel is definitely an upgrade on one shelf and the only version on another. Cuz I bought two. :)

Everyone has their own limit, but my point was more it's a dumb reason to buy a figure you otherwise don't want just because it goes with another. Every purchasing decision should be its own entity, especially with something as popular as X-Men since if a certain figure stinks there's a good chance a better version will come eventually. For my own collection, I'm trying to make sure I'm buying a figure because I truly want it and like it and cut down on impulse buys or buying something because it's cheap or just plain exists. I'm unlikely to change my opinion on a figure just because it's standing next to one that I do like.

I'm not too different than this. I want as many characters as possible. I don't really care about specific looks all that much. I mostly just want to check it off the list and move on to the next - which I why I hate the same characters over and over so, so much. I understand it, but I don't have to like it. I don't want two versions of ANYBODY. It seems like the characters that I'm most excited about are always the ones that every one else passes up because they've never heard of them or don't care about them. LOL Then someone will get real excited over a 12th iteration of someone because it's slightly improved and I'm just like "meh."

After seeing the latest trailers and reading some of the amazing reviews for season 2 ,I am really starting to want to see the new figures for future waves:

Give us X-Force, X-Factor and X-Corp!

I'm guessing someone already pointed this out, but Hasbro rubbing salt in the wound by giving Archangel two fists on the back of the box.
