You're thinking Cyclops. He had the backpack with the fold out stuff. Beast had the flipping action that didn't work.

I only know Beast's techno-backpack from the Weapon X revisit episode that involved Maverick, SilverFox and Tallos (Shiva robot). I think he might've worn it again during the Phalanx Covenant episode or something, but it's mostly just in that one episode as I remember.

I think it debuted in the episode "Obsession" where they help Archangel take on Apocalypse. It shows up again after that a few times including the episodes you cited.
 
Archangel just got dropped off - is it a widespread issue that his pinks don't have good coverage? I haven't seen people mention that but his chest has varying levels.

Also, I continue to despise these undisguised and unnecessary forearm cuts. Hasbro, come on!!!
 
Judging by Robo's review, it looks like the opacity on the pink is an issue. I definitely see it in the comparison of the abdomen to the crotch. Seems similar to the white on Gamerverse Venom's logo.

I would imagine they'll reuse this Beast with new arms and a labcoat overlay at some time? Although in my opinion they should have included the alt arms and coat in this release if its going to be deluxe pricing.
 
I coulda swore i read on here xfactor is getting figures. Updates on Lorna and Alex with new bodies and probably 97 style heads. And If you don't like the heads you can probably just use the old ones. But ive liked all 97 heads so far. And I like Beasts head, it looks spot on. Its the lack of fur thats killing it for me.

Definitely the right move there. Granted, I don't buy a whole lot of Spidey figures these days, but I think any character that's known for jumping and twisting into cool poses- Beast, Spidey, Nightcrawler, etc. could really benefit from some ball joints in the middle section.

AND the waist?! This is the make or break issue on whether I really want this figure so it would be great if they'd released some official shots which demonstrated this.
