X-Force Archangel, Warpath & X-23

Yea both archangel wings have limiting posing options. But I like the looks of the old wings better. They just look better to me. Honestly not sure what it is. And I think most of the limitations I don't like have been covered. I don't think there's new ones need chroming either. But definitely too light. I do really like the wings on the new Angel figure.

BNW Cap's wings can achieve this pose, or do it with the actual figure squared up and facing forward with the wing coming directly over his shoulder. Not a huge deal by any means, but those extra joints do add a little something. Mine are frustratingly loose though - between that and breaking up the sculpt maybe how they handled Archangel is for the best.

My Cap's wing hinges are also too loose. The pose below frustratingly took like 2 to 3 times longer than it should have due to those floppy hinges. What's particularly odd about that is I have the BAF wings and those are MUCH tighter, but of course they have one less hinge and they can't swivel up almost at all.

Man, the Archangel blade effects look SO good with Cap. They're slightly bluish in color, and it matches Cap's wing colors REALLY well.

Those are great pics! And exactly what I was doing and trying to describe with Cap.

I really like the fletchettes as an effect - has anyone given theirs to Longshot yet?? Between this and the great Cyclops beam effect, they're moving the bar higher for effects that need to come with the next Iceman...

Robo noticed some extra unpainted sculpt lines on Archangel's head in his review. We knew a classic blue and pink repaint would eventually happen, and this seems to confirm it.

Gonna do more comparisons of winged characters over the next few days. After playing with both Cap and the new Archangel I'm really not sure has the better wings. I thought it was Archangel before we were discussing it last night, but now I'm not as sure. They both have pros and cons, but right now I like them both better than any other I can think of except perhaps one--the BAF MCU Vulture wings. Those are pretty nice as well, but I've mostly forgotten the details for how they compare to Cap and Archangel.

But that's a theoretical thing based upon the articulation design. The engineering on my Cap makes him clearly not as good because the hinges are floppy whereas all of my Archangel articulation points are very tight and have stayed in every position I've put them in. I thought it might have been just my Cap, but if hmmberto's is the same way then maybe many or most have floppy hinges.

Another winged character I forgot about are the various releases of Wasp. I like her wings, but I don't think they have as many posing options as Cap or Archangel.

I’ve been reading your discussion about the Archangel wings and firing the blades. I found this display at a local Toy store today and thought you all might like to see it as an alternative for displaying the positioning of the blades.
I have no idea if it’s comic accurate at all but it looked pretty cool. I stopped reading comics in the 90s and didn’t pick it up again until around 2000.

Just got X-23 and Warpath from Pulse. Really liked this set. I read X-Force back in the day, and I like these costumes a lot.

Warpath is a big improvement with much better proportions. Generally very nice articulation.

X-23 has two excellent head sculpts. I really like her getting pinless limbs for more range and stability. I want more torso range.

Can’t wait for Archangel. Just read some of the comics on the Marvel Unlimited app. This Archangel interacted a lot with the recent Nemesis/Genocide character, like in those cool poses posted above! Very cool.

I always appreciate your reviews, Akat! Glad you’re here.

Improved torso articulation on women is probably my number 1 want out of ML these days.

The new Black Cat is a prime example - the sides of her chest are sculpted to follow the white piping of her costume, but those "triangles" of plastic prevent thoracic articulation to a large degree - she can't do side-to-side. Her lower torso moves great, but the upper is frustratingly locked.

I kinda want the non-screaming new X-23 head, but none of the rest of the pack. And these new shots of Archangel are really making me want him. Is he back in the red halo look in modern comics or is still looking something like this?

Did Archangel and X-23/Warpath ever go up on Amazon? I thought I had seen them but now can't find links anywhere.

Got the two pack today from Pulse. I mostly wanted it for an updated Laura, but I REALLY like this Warpath. He's a lot of fun to pose.

Wish they had a neutral head for X-23. The grimace face is actually really cool, but I just always want to default to a neutral face if I can. Wish they'd done one screaming, one calm. The boot blades are a nice touch.

I got the two pack today from Pulse. Excellent set! The Legends team is doing such a great job anymore with the female characters. They are beautifully captured in figure form. And even though X-23 is such a fierce character, she is no exception.

Warpath is such a great upgrade from previous figures. His size/bulk and overall look is incredible.

A+ Hasbro.
