Wrestling Toys (Mattel WWE, Jazwares AEW, etc.)

Had the privilege of seeing Nyla Rose peform live at our first AEW show back in early 2020 (literally a week before the world went to complete shit), and the amount of neckbeards in the crowd telling her opponent to "kick her in the dick" sickened me. If I had seen the actual individuals saying it, I might have been escorted out that night.

You could see the pain on Nyla's face. It was infuriating.

That makes sense, aren't toy deals sometimes seven years. Unless jazwares pulls a Tony Kahn and takes the figures off the shelves a year before their contract is up.

This is such a huge component of why I lost interest in wrasslin'. When I was a kid it was fun and ridiculous, like watching cartoon characters come to life, and I really enjoyed it. I knew it was scripted, and it didn't bother me in the least. When I got into my late teens/early twenties, I worked some jobs in chemical plants and refineries, and frequently heard men in their 30s, 40s and 50s talking about matches, and I quickly realized they 100% believed this stuff was real, and dead-serious. They weren't "playing along" and suspending disbelief....they were convinced this was authentic in every way. I was baffled. Soon, I also heard these brain-dead idiots spouting off racist and misogynistic BS about the performers, and it just made me sick. It seemed after a while that this was the majority of the fans, and I just lost any and all interest in it.

Nowadays, I have some friends who really love it, and I enjoy listening to their conversations about performers they like and storylines they are following. It's nice that there are decent humans who love this stuff, but it hasn't been enough to get me back into the whole thing, much to my friends chagrin. Most of the performers I grew up with are retired or dead now, and I just don't want to get emotionally invested into the whole thing again, especially since there are still so many mouth-breathing racist pigs who make up a huge part of the fandom. I will occasionally watch bits with performers like Danhausen who seem to be throwbacks to the goofy, over-the-top performances of my day, but that's about all the interest I can muster.

And no, most deals are 3, 5. Not saying that there aren't 7 year deals, but...not typical.

How I was relentlessly picked at and called a liar and such, and then when I provided proof, instead of going "Oh, our bad", the focus was turned to the time it was when I messaged him.

Lol, you named yourself secrettoyinsider, routinely acted hostile and condescending towards everyone, and got upset when people thought you were some kind of troll or gimmick account. I don't know if you were initially trying to be helpful, but from what I saw of you there, it seemed from my perspective like an absolutely baffling and self-defeating way to approach a community that was designed to justify hostility towards people you didn't like to begin with. And a significant portion of that community does suck! I just remain unclear what you thought you were trying to accomplish there.

First of all, I just said yesterday that I don't call people liars--but I am right now. You are outright lying, or purposefully mischaracterizing the truth.

I named myself that because, at that time, my sources didn't want the things I was saying traced back to them. So, when I asked if I could report it, they asked if I used a pseudonym. Not because I am massively popular, but because there ARE some people who know who I am, and I don't do this for clout. As I said then, I am saying now, I did it to protect them. Didn't realize that was such a point of contention. And I explained that all to you. Apparently, that is condescending that you are not owed my identity or who I know. So sorry.

Additionally, the gall to sit there and acknowledge that people were hostile towards me--all while in the same breath trying to justify that because hey, I deserved it, apparently--then riding my ass for returning the favor is just...my God. Frankly, hilarious.

And, as I stated ad nauseum then, and apparently need to repeat--I was stopping the flow of assumption and false information. You all just wanted to continue to suck each other off in your confirmation bias of misinformation (for whatever reason) and didn't like that I accurately put a halt to it. Guess what? I was STILL right, because you fucking dipshits were saying that after year one of the line.

But you didn't actually stop the flow of assumption and false information. No one actually seemed to believe or take you seriously and obviously figured out pretty quickly that it was really easy to get you to fly off the handle by questioning you. The only thing that stopped the flow of misinformation about the line dying was the board activity dropping off when new product dried up; in effect, the line dying killed the rumors of the line dying. You wasted all that time and energy just to be the board's main character for a little while.

Edit--As a matter of fact, I'm so glad you mentioned this part: I remember specifically saying "You don't all have to believe me. Time will prove me right. But there is zero need for any of you to be so rude and disrspectful. You can wait, and you'll see it for yourselves". I said that. I was fine with the skepticism. I recall explicitly asking that I not be attacked over it.

So, you mentioning that you all were intentionally trying to get me upset isn't really helping your case here. Good job.

Not here. Not here at all. Specifically referring to individuals over at WFigs. He just happens to frequent there, as well. And the squabble is over their treatment of people over there. Not a dick measuring contest on this end, in the slightest.
 
You had no way of knowing my pronouns, but "they" just happen to frequent there. That's more for everyone's benefit, I don't know if I've mentioned that here?

I want to be clear, it's not a spat for me. I'm still just kind of blown away by it? I guess what I'm trying to understand is, if that approach wasn't intentionally designed to fail, why then continue doing the same things in the same ways when it became clear that it was failing?
