What Was Your First Marvel Figure?

I got all of my brothers hand-me-down Megos so my first Marvel figures would be Cap, Iron Man, Spidey, Thor, Falcon, Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Conan, Green Goblin and Lizard.
Probably my first actual owned Marvel figure would have been Secret Wars Cap or Iron Man.

I go back to the late 70s Mego era. You kids with your 47 points of articulation. We had 5poa figures with inappropriately pre-posed right arms.
These are my childhood Mego Pocket Heroes with a Marx Daredevil from '67. DD is from before my time, not sure how I got him. He was also released in multiple colors. Hulk's purple painted pants are nice and sticky.

I had/have somewhere? that Spidey. (y)
I had the mid-70s Mego Spider-Man and Hulk, so round about that time. Ironically, never had Mego Thor. Didn't seem to ever come to my area, or sold out.
Megos were my first toy love.
It would probably have been a vintage MEGO Spidey:
I had more DC characters back then, but Spidey was one of if not myfirst Marvel one.
My first Marvel toy was definitely a Mego. Pretty sure it would be Spider-man. He and the Thing were and are my favorite characters.

Based solely on his appearances in the early days of the X-Men the Animated series.

My second was; it was the only figure to unseat my Kenner Keaton 89 Batman figure as my favorite:

I don't think Gambit was my third, I think it was the 80s looking Sabretooth with the flipping claw mark damage abs when punched. But I went on a pilgrimage to many TRU's til I finally found Gambit.

Question for you: how many times did the arms snap at the elbow on your Wolverine figure? I went through about a dozen of these figures from 1993-1997. It took way too long for Toy Biz to deliver a Wolverine that was based on his current look in the comics while we were stuck with that older retro version that was made to look more like Dave Cockrum’s art. And it was so fucking fragile

Back in the 90's, Marvel wasn't even on my radar when I started collecting them. I never read a comic. I was strictly a new Star Wars and Playmates Star Trek collector. My Sister-In-Law talked me into this Domino. I loved the color combination and was then hooked on Marvel. I fell hard down that rabbit hole. I'm still hoping Hasbro releases this Capullo version of her.

I never had the arms snap on my Wolverine II and that figure got A LOT of use. Never had the issue on Wolverine III either or the gold repaint that came with his Jeep. Looking back on it, I can't recall many of my Toy Biz figures breaking. I think Forge's gun snapped off, but I just glued it back in place. I remember my friend's Gambit snapped at the ankle, but that was because he threw him.

Never had that issue with Wolvie. Now Gambit on the other hand, had the action feature break on me, so his leg would be in a regular kicking position. A good example of why I despise action features. They end up messing with the design of a figure.

Hmmm I’d always run into the problem of the elbow breaking on the Wolverine. The plastic was consistently weak. Things wouldn’t improve until the late 90’s when they started using gummier plastics and exchanged metal rivets for the plastic pegs.

Mego Captain America. I was 9 years old and used my own money to buy him (the boxed version). I was so excited to have an action figure of my favorite hero, I didn’t even care about the inaccuracies of the costume (no gloves or white sleeves, straight boots instead of the pirate cuffed boots).

My first Marvel figure? Mego Hulk, probably. I know my brother got Megos first, but eventually I had all the Marvel ones. Human Torch and Falcon were my favorites. I did like making Hulk and Thing duke it out. Poor Green Goblin . He and Lizard were the only Marvel bad guys they made, so got dogpiled by the heroes on the regular.

I remember having what I think was like a 10" Spider Man with cloth goods. I specifically remember snaps on the back of the costume near the neck and upper back. That was probably 45 years ago now.
