Wasted slots & flat-out fails

Retro Antman being a repaint of Black Ant with that very specific, totally wrong helmet for either Pym or Lang

Retro white Vision with that awful cape when the Quasar cape, which is the right shape and style, was an available option

Retro Savage Land Xavier being on that huge body, a totally different build than his previous suited figure

Cottonmouth’s boring head instead of one that displays his enlarged mouth powers

Speedball with goggles

Siryn with no screaming likeness

Thunderstrike with no lefty grip hand

Havok missing his silver collar/paint

Sasquatch height too short

Captain Britain’s helmet being the wrong shape

I also don't want to call out any particular character, but I do get frustrated when we get essentially the same look 2 or 3 times in part because a prior version had something that needed to be fixed or wasn't given a wide enough release. (As an example, Silk) I do think some of the BAF choices have been pretty obscure while we wait on BAF-type characters like Volstagg.

There aren't too many true fails. Most are subtle things that I feel suggest something was rushed or not fully researched which I admit annoys me more because it seems self-inflicted. Most recently the lack of boots for the X-Factor Jean.

I was very disappointed by the Shadowcat Kitty Pryde hair sculpt which was just off to the point it seems more like a cosplayer than the character.

Maybe not a fail per se but I think they have drifted too big scale-wise for some recent releases - Juggernaut, Wolverine, Gorgon, Odin. Gorgon is the most egregious given we have waited for the character so long. Conversely I think that the only Puck we got is too short and not bulky enough.

Then there are the head scratchers like Warbow or that wakadoo pink Iron Man.
I don't care about Crystar but given they made that character, I have no problem with them not orphaning him and adding to his cast. In fact it is what we have been asking for with other characters, to flesh out the "team" and cast, so even though I don't need the figure I get why they made it.

I'm going to defend Valentine's Day Iron Man - I don't think that is really taking a slot from anyone, as it is essentially a repaint, and harmless as a stand alone. Star Wars does this all the time.

Blue Quicksilver not having his neck painted flesh. Then the Green Quicksilver comes along and its not really accurate to a classic Quicksilver either.

"Skinny" Toad.

Arm gap and a tiny bit too small Classic Luke Cage. (I'd prob have gone more goldish on the shirt too)

Super Reusetoid

Too tall Karnak.

Not a disappointment bc the figures are very well done; but both Odin and Gorgon are WAY too big. Its like they felt it just justified a higher price point.

For me, the biggest disappointment was the Mini Comic Wave Adam Warlock.
Oh, it’s a nice enough figure, but we’ve gotten this Infinity Watch version before.
I want a classic Bronze Age version, either the original lighting bolt insignia version (Marvel Premiere #1) or the updated caped version (Strange Tales #180), with soul gem on forehead included.
Please.
Before I die.
😔
I do like that we actually got him the proper golden skin-tone, this time around, and that the gauntlet is removable, this time, too.

Morlun! We're supposed to believe that short ass figure is this guy? OK, not sure if wasted slot is appropriate compared to the execution being piss poor at best.
