From what I understand, the apps let you filter out enough that you may as well build your dream partner in a lab. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if politics wasn't an available filter.

Short answer: I thrive organically just talking to people. Extroverted introvert, I guess.

RE Apps, short is people lie about things all the time. It's all performative in the end to boost your odds. But I'll take some of my adventures to that thread.

Writer Jim Wright is always using the phrase "all the self-awareness of a dog licking its own asshole in the street" and I feel like that phrase should follow Trump for the rest of known history. Talking like that in front of the general assembly like he's god's golden child when everyone in the room knows he's a damned fool.

Jim's posts help keep me sane. Some people just have an undefeated bullshit detector and he's one of them.

Geez! China does give foreign aid! They are getting way more influence because of the cuts! People did die because programs running on that aid were cut. The corruption is Trump & his cronies pouring billions of taxpayer money back to his rich donors.

Not to be too wildly conspiratorial, but since most of capitalism is now a competition of magic number machines that increase abstract valuation to earn more valuation, in effect a system where the money is making itself and value is divorced from production or consumption, it kinda seems like the plan from the billionaire class is actually just mass death.

I saw this one on John Oliver Sunday. Look, I know Trump's an asshole. I know we've seen 100 bigger news stories today. I know he's said a million more disqualifying things than this, but some part of me remains shocked that we elected this asshole twice. He truly only cares about himself.
