Good on AOC for having the guts to not give in to this whirlwind of madness. She's not perfect, but I tend to like most things she does, and if nothing else, I respect her for having the balls to be blunt and honest about a lot of things. It really is just so mindboggling that all of this not only happened in the first place, but everything since has happened so quickly. I mean, we haven't even made 9/11 a national holiday yet, but they're turning his freaking birthday into one? Has anyone who's ever been assassinated been made into a deity this quickly before? I feel like Lincoln, JFK, MLK, Milk, etc. all got a grace period, and even then, they weren't looked upon as highly as this clown.

God, it's just one battle after another with these people. Never a moment's rest. I always have, and always will vehemently fight for all my trans friends and family members. Doesn't matter who comes for them or how close I previously was- you fuck with them, you're out. They're some of the most friendly, welcoming people I've ever met, and my life is undoubtedly better off for it. It disgusts me, how some folks, just so they can feel powerful, will pick on the smallest group of people who only want to live their lives happily in their own bodies and not harm anyone. Doing so doesn't make you brave or righteous, it makes you a rotten-hearted, sour-souled, stink-brained sack of vaguely anthropomorphic shit. And you can take that to the bank.

I keep coming back to this. I cannot stop being confused by it. Even if I was an actual Christian person, I still wouldn't see him as someone to praise at all. At all. Is it simply enough to take him as his word that he is the most God loving motherfucker on the planet? He said it, that's good enough. (I don't know if he ever said that, but it seems like a lot of people are just taking his "great Christian" concept st face value, while his actions and definitely sentiments expressed massively conflict with that perspective.)

Agreed. Granted, as someone who was raised Catholic/Christian, even I think the word basically doesn't mean anything anymore, but even among Christians- even among crazy Christian Nationalists, he's probably not even top 10 people who represent the brand the best, so what's the deal? Like, it's obvious he's being scapegoated, but like....why him? Just because he was killed (which I'm still not fully convinced wasn't an inside job somehow). Hell, even one of the people working on the CK show just said that Comedy Central should start airing the South Park episode making fun of him again, because he apparently loved it so much. He was a lot of things- conservative, Republican, Christian, tiny-faced sack of garbage- but as much, if not moreso, he was a shitposter that knew what to say to both press people's buttons and get people on his side. It's that weird herd/cult mentality of loving someone who's othered in some way. And I don't know if I should be furious at or pity the folks who fall for it.

Well... And I'm not totally up on the conspiracies but inside job is definitely one. And the pictures they're saying is the guy but doesn't look like him etc, the weird on the nose text confession etc. I dunno. I don't have a fully formed opinion, but if they DID have him killed as a martyr, it makes sense for it to be someone they didn't feel was crucial to their plans then they just gotta push hard for "no but he was wuuuuuuuuuuuunderful, and you need to persecute anyone who says otherwise. And next week start throwing literal stones them," etc.

Again, I don't believe it, dunno.
