There's still just an insane amount of tribalism when it comes to the two-party system. You can get some Republicans to concede what the party is doing is not what they want, they might even hate Trump, but when push comes to shove they still vote straight ticket because that's their party.
 
How's Elon's third party coming along? I feel like we could really concentrate the crazy there and have them split the vote with actual conservatives staying with the Republicans.

Not only tribalism. Abject stupidity. And I mean this on BOTH sides of the aisle; people that have no idea what or who they're voting for, don't know what any of it means or how it impacts them, and will consistently vote against their own interests not because 'muh party' but because they literally don't even know what's going on AND don't believe people smarter/more informed than them.

Because, y'know, small, limited federal government that doesn't interfere with business and all.

I believe last time he wanted to not count everyone the Supreme Court said it was illegal. Not that it may stop him now.
