Tracking toy tariffs

A lot of the dumb shit this administration does is with the presumption that there are no consequences for America. We are superior and above all other countries, therefore we can dictate the value of money, annex who we want, and do what we will with the leadership of other nations.
Rapist mindset.

I'm waiting over a week for Ami to invoice me with the shipping and payment on an in stock order.

Is this usual.
I am a long time Amiami user who just recently placed my first post-tariff order with them now that they're shipping to the US again.

I placed an in-stock order on Dec 31, took exactly a week for the invoice to come through (usually was about 2 days), which I immediately paid on Jan 5, and now I'm still waiting to hear about the stuff actually shipping. From what I've gathered on Reddit, this is the new norm. They're so backlogged and the shipping services will only accept so much every day.

Shipping was $40 for ECMS with no fees upon delivery. Up from like $25 for DHL which took about 1 day for delivery from Japan to Ohio. Still a little cheaper than BBTS and BBTS still hasn't gotten the Figma Snake I ordered in stock yet.

Might send them an email. See if it's shipped and they just haven't sent a notification yet like SalemCrow had happen.

so far I haven't had anything from overseas yet
the only thing is a Hiya G.I. Joe Spirit still in pre-order limbo
if Takara makes a new Masterpiece Transformer character then I will have to see where the best prices are going to be
I used AmiAmi in the past but I will not play this tariff game

Small businesses say they aren’t planning to hire many recent graduates for entry-level jobs

Nearly 6 in 10 Americans believe economy is weak under Trump

I just hope those MAGA clowns ignoring that the economy is bad get hit the hardest soon but even then I bet they would say the economy is great

I received an invoice from AmiAmi for Mafex Age of Apocalypse Weapon X and Cyclops at the end of October, paid immediately for ECMS shipping, and it arrived at my home in Michigan early January. This was for double the shipping cost DHL was until earlier this year.

It was in stark contrast to how it was before, where I paid like $20 bucks for DHL shipping and it made it from Japan to my home in like four days.

I did see that AmiAmi brought back DHL shipping but said it may be subject to tariff fees due upon delivery. Not sure what that will look like.

The Supreme Court couldn't issue a ruling on Trump's tariffs before my InArt Batman hit the states. Motherfuckers.

Hopefully they will by the time the Arkham Origins one hits.

It does make me wonder if we'll see a rush of big ticket items go up if tariffs get struck down? I would guess "No," because companies will assume Trump will continue to just do whatever he wants, but it would be amusing to suddenly see NECA put its giant Krang up for order, Mondo a sixth scale Xavier with a hover chair, or Hasbro reissue some expensive HasLab or something.

From what I've seen on Reddit, you'd be looking at a base price of like $25 just for "brokerage fees" plus the tariff on top which seems to jump all over the place with no rhyme or reason. I've seen folks get charged DHL fees that double the price of the entire product. Or sometimes even more because I guess DHL has a habit of not converting yen to dollars so they'll put the value in as like $6,000 instead of 6000¥

I did get a fairly generic response from Amiami this morning. Basically saying that they did receive my payment and I'd receive a notification within 24 hours of shipment.
