Tracking toy tariffs

Napoleon in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure seems to be who Trump emulates.
See, there's a pop-culture comparison I think works.

My favorite for a while now is that he's our first Ferengi president. In fact, here' I'll share a little art with you folks:

I almost never do political art, and god knows I'll never draw this troll again, but a few years back I just needed to get the image out of my system.

I haven’t been keeping up with this thread, so pardon if it’s been mentioned and this seems like the thread to bring it up in.

But the latest wave of Jazwares Pokémon figures have all been slightly retooled and are now made in Vietnam. So maybe some slightly interesting news from a fairly large toy maker.

Maybe most surprising is that I guess the quality on them is WAY better.

That's the part that's surprising. I know companies have been experimenting with producing figures outside China - largely in Vietnam, in fact, but it hasn't seemed to go well so far. For the record, my understanding is that Super7's TMNT Ultimates wave 5 was produced in Vietnam, which is the wave that was pushed back a bunch of times and then went on to become the worst wave they ever produced in terms of pure QC failure, among other issues.
Very interesting to hear someone got a Vietnamese factory to step it up and actually produce quality product. It was bound to happen eventually, but this is pretty fast.

Super7’s Power Rangers came out of Vietnam as well, at least the first wave. It too had a lot of problems, mainly with Goldar. Bandai started producing some SHFiguarts releases there and the first few were iffy, but they’ve been far better of late. There’s a learning curve and some of the factories in Vietnam are clearly picking it up.

Like I said, it was bound to happen eventually. But I'm still surprised they were able to get so much better so quickly - particularly in the sense of actually surpassing the quality of existing factories. That's basically unheard of to come in and do it better than the factory that's been doing it for 10-40 years. Good for them. Hopefully that means we'll quickly have fewer and fewer concerns about action figures being produced outside of China.

Don't tell you know who. We'll have a 2nd Vietnam war just so he can claim he found the factory. Don't tell him we lost the first one, it'll also be about revenge.

Also, I had an idea to try and get gold pressed latinum talked about somewhere he watches and see if he mentiond it in any of his speeches. And drug prices going down 1,500% really helps in this economy. I mean, I haven't gotten my $2 billion check for all the meds I take, but I'm sure its in the mail.
