Jeez. Already $35 Billion set for refunds and 126,237 applications for refunds. Walmart alone is estimated to be eligible for $10 Billion in refunds. I'm sure there is tons of money just sitting around from those tariffs to refund the companies and not have the taxpayer go into hundreds of billions more of debt.

Hard to overstate how porked the American people got with these tariffs. We basically paid them via price increasees, but we don't even benefit from them as taxes which could have theoretically gone towards improving infrastructure or a number of social goods. Instead, it just goes right into the pockets of those who imported said goods as if they had just raised prices for the fun of it. And it's not as if anything is coming down with the tariffs eliminated or lessened.
