Tracking toy tariffs

Am I the only collector who doesn't own one single Turtles product?

No shade, just curious. I thought Venus di Milo was a GREAT addition to the lore back in the day, so I fully admit I am not the target audience. :)
Same here. Turtles were more of my youngest brother's time. They're fun! Just not my jam. Being an older collector, I love Megos. Each of us has lines that sparked our love of action figures. I enjoy reading about them all. But I can't collect them all.
Guess Damien will ban me as well :p

Yes, yes you are. Please turn in your collector's certification at the nearest toy aisle. Thank you.......

As someone born in 74' I was a bit too old for TMNT when it debuted the cartoon. Going into high school I was "over" my toys and either gave them to my younger brother, or they were stored away until they were eventually "lost" to time somehow. Man I still miss my USS Flagg. and Night Raven.

Anyway, you are not alone, but I have to admit I did manage to snag a Playmates Turtle Van reissue and the brothers and Krang in the past year (all on sale/clearance). So if this was 2023 I would probably have been there with you, but now not so much. Frankly though I don't really have much nostalgia for them, but for a good price I couldn't pass up some classic toys from a huge brand.

78 baby here, and I somehow got my hands on the original Mirage TMNT comics and loved them. Like really, really loved them. I also really loved the live-action film, especially since they shifted a lot of the narrative to Raph, my favorite turtle. Buuuuut I had a very negative reaction to the cartoon, just really didn’t like it at all. My folks actively discouraged toys at this time, so I was definitely not starting a new line, so I probably didn’t have any TMNT merch until the mid-ish 90s when I had my own wheels and snagged some later Shredder figures and the Universal Monster Turtles at TRU. Since then I’ve always had a weird relationship with TMNT such, never really knowing when or how to dip in. I hated the Bay films but LOVED the latest animated movie. I definitely want to grab all the new Universal Monsters ones NECA is going, but I waited to go all-in until they did Dracula (who just came in the mail and RULES).
But yeah, I have a belated and sketchy relationship with TMNT figures as well.

I'm another one that liked the comics (I have a full run of the original Mirage series) but never got into the cartoon.

I could see Super7 doing Deluxe Turtles in the future, but specifically with the 2003 Turtles after waiting a little while. That'd be the safest option without outright stepping on the toes of anyone else.

Seeing a bunch of '70s babies terrifies me. I'm an '01 kid. I grew up primarily with the original run of Mirage, the movies, and 2003.

And here I was thinking I might be one of the young ones from '85.

I was the target demographic when the Turtles cartoon came out and I loved it as a kid. I even saw the Coming Out of Their Shells tour, which my friends later convinced me was a dream until the internet could finally vindicate me like a decade afterward. My wife has a Playmates Wingnut & Screwloose from when she was little and she picked up a Playmates Hothead for nostalgia reasons on one of our Vegas trips, but I don't have any of my own because nostalgia doesn't really fuel my collecting. I love customizing and accessorizing so I'm all about modularity and concepts that provide a sandbox for my imagination instead of a full story.

so I don't seem like an asshole.

:D

So... am I the only one that was first introduced to the turtles via the RPG by Palladium Books? I think it was released in '85 or '86.

I was going to say "I also don't have any TMNT stuff" and while that's technically true for present-day me, when I was a small child I did have figures of Bebop and Rocksteady but only because the pig-man and rhino-man look must have appealed to me. (Mutant Mayhem was the first TMNT piece of media I experienced; too young for the initial Turtle mania, too old for its comeback)

Guys - I lied! I have one - the Lightning Collection April Pink Ranger figure! Sold off whoever shipped with her, but still have her. Thought her head would make an excellent Evangeline Lilly Ant-Man 1 custom and an MMPR Pink without the skirt is fun novelty.

Can I be let back in?
