I know there is a top 10 Legends thread over in the Marvel Toys section, but I wanted to make a top 10 overall action figures from every toy line, and I hope to see others post their lists here as well.

In 2025 I acquired 228 toys, most of them action figures, and most of them released in 2025. Of my main collections I got 45 Marvel Legends, 33 G.I. Joe Classified and 27 McFarlane DC Multiverse, as well as 22 Star Wars figures from The Vintage Collection and Black Series. When I compiled the shortlist for my top ten figures of the year I ended up with a list of 22 figures, with the criteria that they must have been released in 2025 and I must have them in-hand (there's a fair amount of figures released this year that won't qualify for my list because they're still in my Pile Of Loot). Here is the list of the runners-up:

1. Sci-Fi (G.I. Joe Classified)
2. Ghost Viper (G.I. Joe Classified)
3. The Penguin (McFarlane Theatrical Edition)
4. Seaspray (Transformers Retro-Carded)
5. Daredevil (Marvel Legends Born Again)
6. Lion-O (Super7 Ultimates Light-Up)
7. Mindbender (G.I. Joe Classified Retro-Carded)
8. Deathstroke (McFarlane Collector's Edition)
9. Crystal Ball (G.I. Joe Classified)
10. Psylocke (Marvel Legends Gamerverse)
11. Rom (Marvel Legends)
12. Power Girl (McFarlane Collector's Edition)

And finally, my personal Top 10 Action Figures of 2025

10. Wet-Suit (G.I. Joe Classified)

9. Pythona (G.I. Joe Classified)

8. Vega (Jada Toys Ultra Street Fighter II)

7. Shredder (NECA TMNT Adventures)

6. Count Von Count (NECA Sesame Street)

4. Shazam (McFarlane Page Punchers)

1. Dragon Man (Marvel Legends)

There was a fair bit of agonizing over this list, but a fair bit of fun as well. Definitely looking forward to more toys in 2026. Can't wait to see which figures make yalls' lists.

1. Lingjihun Leonardo
2. Lingjihun Raphael
3. Hasbro 97 Sentinel
4. Mcfarlane Batman Returns Penguin with Duck
5. McFarlane Batman Returns Catwoman
6. Marvel Legends Deathbird
7. McFarlane Silver Platinum Two Face
8. Haslab Ecto 1
9. Marvel Legends Gamerverse Wolverine
10. McFarlane Silver Age Superman

Notable Mentions: Mondo RGB Peter Venkman & Egon Spengler, Mondo 97 Wolverine (tiger stripe), Mondo 97 Nightcrawler, Mondo BTAS Clayface, Marvel Legends Gamerverse Captain America and Psylocke, G.I. Joe Classified Heavy Duty

I don't think I'll rank them (aside from the top spot), but my 10 favorites for the year:

JoyToy TMNT Groundchuck
JoyToy TMNT Metalhead
Gamerverse Wolverine
Gamerverse Captain America
NECA Archie Shredder
Storm Arena Ken/Ryu
Mondo 1/6 Nightcrawler
Mondo Real Ghostbusters Venkman/Egon
Mezco Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

And my favorite of the year:

InArt 1/12 The Dark Knight Rises Batman - Just an incredible looking figure with enough articulation and accessories. This came out of nowhere for me and InArt is perhaps the most exciting thing in toys for me now just because I want to see what they do next.

My Top 10 Favorite Figures of 2025:

Storm Collectibles Kim Kaphwan (KOF 98)
Marvel Legends Husk
Marvel Legends Marrow
Lazy Monster Studio Oak Town Fairy Elf Gaurd
McFarlane Silver Age Superman
McFarlane Batgirl (Stephanie Brown)
McFarlane Hawkgirl (Standard)
Storm Arena Ryu/Ken
Jada Toys Vega
Jada Toys Tony the Tiger

Okay, lets get the honourable mentions out of the way first: the X-Men '97 Sentinel, Storm Gatchaman Jun, Classified Retro Cover Girl and Pythona, Medicom John Wick and Caine, and the Fog Toys mechanic girl. All great in their own way and hell, the Joes could probably warrant a top 10 of their own for how many good figures there were.

Right, in no particular order till the top 3...

dc669a4c3ae7.jpeg
Mezco: Tangerine

Super cool and packed with accessories, my only criticism is that her ankles are pretty weak, alas.
f87ce221391f.jpeg
Storm Arena: Ryu

The Alpha series are far and away my favourite Street Fighter games, so this guy is basically perfection. Delightfully poseable, I was even able to get him doing a hadoken without a stand!
04a7a8114361.jpeg
Mithril Action: Queen of Shadows

Hail to the Queen, baby. For when you absolutely, positively definitely have to melt zombies or barbecue a giant tree full of loser Night Elves.
41f1718eb220.jpeg
G.I Joe Classified: Crystal Ball

Possibly the greatest glow up of all time, Dick King goes from RAH zero to Classified hero.
88cfb9bed909.jpeg
G.I Joe Classified: Marine Sniper

One of the first (maybe *the* first) things I picked up this year and she remained a favourite throughout. So many accessories, and the ghillie suit is awesome. She's a canon Joe now as far as I am concerned.
ccc872ff9493.jpeg
SH Figuarts: Beetlejuice

Maybe the low key surprise of the year? He's a pretty much all I could want from a Betelgeuse figure, so much personality in a grubby little guy in a stripey suit. He's the ghost with the most, babe.
70cab908f191.jpeg
fb69982d4c38.jpeg
Transformers: Missing Link Arcee (prototype)

Better (40 years) late than never. I still can't believe how well that technically appalling colour scheme works on her but somehow it does and she looks so much nicer than the trad white/pink combo.

And now, the Top 3!

e58858f443dd.jpeg
Medicom: Batman (Knightfall)

My perfect comic book Batman, I'll never need another.
89553145c878.jpeg
Inart: The Dark Knight Rises Batman

Just an astonishing sculpt for 1:12, the level of detail is absurd, and the cape puts the fabric every other firm uses to shame, it drapes beautifully.
e8b0c1430676.jpeg
4fcc9c7b8832.jpeg
Mezco: Nosferatu (B&W edition)

An absolute masterpiece, no other figure this year has given me this much joy. Tons of cool accessories and so fun to pick up and mess about with. I don't have many Mezcos, I don't like their whole full cloth goods thing for the most part but every now and then, they do something so good I can get past it.

Overall Top 10 2025

RomankeyxCowl Jessica Aster
Guardian of the Horde Queen of Shadows
Crazy Figure Sporty Girl
Figuarts Neon Genesis Evangelion Rei
Figuarts Neon Genesis Evangelion Asuka
Marvel Legends Maximum Spidey
Gi Joe Classified Rattler Baroness
GI Joe Classified Pythona
McFarlane Elite Fallout Lucy
InArt Batman

XesRay Goldhildr is a close runner up, but like most XesRay, I just don't find it fun to pose up. Cheeks alone do not make a figure.

Hot Toys Spider-Man (Japan 1978), the next morning after ordering, I was driving into work wondering why I needed a Japanese Spider-Man that was even pricy by Hot Toys standards. A Spider-Man I'm really only familiar with through gifs and an occasional YouTube video. Those doubts were quickly wiped away when thinking about batshit bonkers Japanese Spider-Man brought a smile to face as I was driving down the highway. This is why he gets the number one spot.

My favorites, leaving out Hasbro ML and GI Joe and cheating a little by sharing slots.

Storm Ryu & Ken
Jada Scooby Mummy
Jada Blanka, Sagat, Ken
WWE E117 Naomi & Rhea
Playtoy 1/6 Chun Li v2 black sleeveless
Blokees Action Ed. Soundwave
Snail Shell Grisa
Starman 1/6 MS-012 Agent Bee (Cammy)

May take a while for me to remember everything I bought this year, but I did do my top Black Series of the year. I cheated a bit, but it's my list, so nyah.

Honorable Mentions: Cal/Turgle/Skoova 3 pack, Krennic (RO redo), Ronin 2-pack, ISB Agent, Cassian Andor (Seinar Test Pilot), Sebulba, Kelnacca, Dash Rendar

10. Merrin
9. Jedi Temple Guard
8. SM-33
7. Prequel Jedi Ladies (Shaak Ti, Luminara, Barriss)
6. Commander Cody
5. Ezra Bridger (Peridea)
4. Han/Chewie (ANH redo)
3. Savage Oppress
2. Anakin/Obi-Wan (ROTS redo)
1. The Stranger

It was a darn good year for Black Series, I think, and the upcoming releases look to be no exception. Really eager to get thest next couples waves in my grubby little hands.

I think there were 11 total this year, so the list wasn't too tricky. Mandarin did not make it, and will be leaving the building as soon as I can be brave enough to use ebay. I wasn't too impressed with Link either. He looks awesome in pictures and generally as a piece of art, but is kind of fiddly and the butterfly shoulder on mine likes to fall out.

10. TOTK Link (Figma)
9. Juvenile Triceratops (Hammond Collection)
8. Sir Andrew (Mythic Legions)
7. Skeleton Raider (Mythic Legions)
6. Extremis Iron Man (Two Pack - Marvel Legends)
5. Monster Force Kiloworg (Fresh Monkey Fiction)
4. Turpiculi (Mythic Legions)
3. Maximum Spider-man (Marvel Legends)
2. Shaggy (Jada)
1. Green Armory Knight (Mythic Legions)

Really enjoyed most of these, but it's kind of tied between Shaggy and the Green Armory Knight. The knight is such a brilliant colour, and I've always enjoyed a green forest themed type knight, and I've also added a couple of extra accessories to make it my own. Shaggy was such a surprise though, really cool looking representation of that character but also a bunch of fun to pose/mess around with.

Top 10 action figures of 2025

In no particular order, and I’m cheating a bit for some of these. Hey, it’s my list…..

  • Mondo Real Ghostbusters Peter and Egon
  • Jada Toys Scooby Doo wave 1 Shaggy
  • Figma Tears of the Kingdom Link
  • Nottaa Studios White Cat Legend (deluxe version)
  • Hasbro GI Joe Classified Legacy Cop & Firefighter (I have 10 cops and 7 Firefighters, that says something)
  • NECA 2012 TMNT turtles
  • Beyond Six Inches Chaos Darknight Vigilante
  • Gong Studio Kingdom Come Superman & Shazam
  • Fury Toys Abyss Force Shark Squad (all 3)

There are more that could be honorable mentions, but those are the ones I had the most fun posing this year.

Top vehicles/accessories for 2025

  • Hasbro Haslab Ecto-1
  • Ramen Toys Ramen Racer “The General”
  • Ramen Toys Econovan
  • Ramen Toys Ramen Racer "Metal Black"
  • 3D printed Fantasticar

My top 10.
Vega represents Sagat and Blanka as well. Jada SF remains may favorite toy line out there now and I can't wait to finish the SF 2 cast this year.
Tele Viper was my first GI Joe and this figure is perfect.
O ring Big Lob arrives after 39 years.
Swiftwind was one I definitely wanted before Origins comes to and end and the set is glorious.
Catwoman represents the whole Batman Returns line which is my number 1 of the year.

I honestly don't know if I can do this, but I want to try. Some of the lines I collect have top tens all their own, but if I take the "brought me the most joy" list:

10: Marvel Legends Rachel Summers. Absolutely a basic figure, but I have wanted this figure since I first started buying Legends and she's perfect. But actually I could have put almost anyone from that wave in this spot. She gets the "most wanted" pick but casual Daredevil, my favorite Widow costume, and one hell of a good Beast also deserve love.
9: Masterverse Panthor. This was a grail figure for that line I never thought they'd make. I bought a spare just in case, that's how much I wanted him. (I never ever buy spares just to have.)
8: Jada Street Fighter Dhalsim (Player 2). I think Vega probably is a better figure overall, but this was my favorite P2 from SF2 and the figure is so damned good. (Loved P2 Cammy too but not my favorite color scheme for her.)
7: TotK Link. I didn't really play the game but I have wanted a Link this good my entire collector life. He's perfect and I can't wait to add Zelda to the shelf with him in a few weeks.
6: Pythona, Classified. Ridiculously cool figure.
5: Marvel Legends Marrow. A favorite character I never thought they'd make, but they made her exactly how I wanted her.
4. Star Wars Black Series Ronin (and droid). This figure shouldn't exist. I am so glad he does.
3. Pilot Baroness. Astonishingly beautiful figure.
2. Mouse King. Didn't know I wanted him til I had him in hand and he's never going to go away. Just lives on my shelf now.
1. Frazetta Conan. Hands down best figure I got all year. Just pure joy.

There's a solid 25 figures I could argue take any spot on here but this was the combo of most wanted and best design. I think the best runner up was Sci-Fi from Classified but the ladies beat him out on pure design pop. ANY of the Jedi ladies released this year (and the temple guard) could take a spot too.

I'm so glad to see some Figma TotK Link love in this thread. I didn't see him on any major influencer's list. He was neck-and-neck for my figure of the year all year.

Realistically, the MAFEX brown-costume Wolverine re-release should be on this list, but I don't like featuring old figures.

10. MAFEX DC Hush Riddler
9. Yoto Toys Mimic
8. Marvel Legends Mystique
7. Marvel Legends Gamerverse Venom
6. Jada Toys Scooby-Doo Shaggy
5. Mythic Legions Otho
4. Blokees Model Kit Charizard
3. Marvel Legends Gamerverse Psylocke
2. Figma The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Link
1. Savage Crucible Jaeger

I think I saw him Johnny Nostalgia’s list. That Link does look great, it’s just not a version of Link I need in figure form, but if they ever do one based on the original game’s artwork…
