I don't have any idea what's going on in Gaslamp Quarter with the Doomsday iconography. But it's making for some interesting conversation.

The hot rumor is that Marvel Studios is transforming one of the restaurants on 5th Avenue into that forest we saw in the trailer. A Latverian forest, I would assume.

Okay, the show starts for real tomorrow. Preview night is 6PM to 9PM Pacific Daylight Time. There are always a few scamps that sneak in early and get pics so stand by for that. I will be there handing out cards and schmoozing in the Hasbro booth and making new friends in the Mattel booth.
It's going to be a big weekend, kids. Buckle up.

I could probably afford it. But poor planning and a 3000 mile cross country excursion is stopping me. Plus the fact that I hate big crowds.
And the simple truth is that I would probably fry my internal wiring harness with so much to do, see, and experience. I really might glitch out.

Gard, here's the one thing I've learned in the 40 plus years I've been attending this event: The San Diego Comic Con is what YOU make it.
Like comics? Great. So do I. I just took a cursory look at the programming schedule and I counted over 40 panels with the word "comics" in them. All the major publishers are there, as well as the independents. Plus you have artists alley and back issue dealers. Like Movies and TV? Hall H and Ballroom 20. Like action figures? Mattel, Hasbro, and many of the toy companies are there. Like video games? There's a whole section at the east end of the exhibit hall devoted to video games. Like the role playing and table top games? There are suites in all the hotels set up just for that. Like cartoons and animation? There are many panels upstairs devoted to just that, including Spike and Mike's Festival of animation. Enjoy cosplay? There are those who have elevated that to an art form.
The thing is, you have to find your niche. You have to find what gives you joy. Then you look at the schedule and do what you think would be the most fun. If you do that, you will love this convention.
I told that cute lady reporter that but that part of the conversation never made it on the air. Pity.
SDCC sells out in less than an hour every year. And there's a reason for that. People go because they love this stuff. And they have fun.
