I don't need to tell you who he is. You already know or else you wouldn't even be here.

Suffice it to say that without this man, there would be no Marvel. No Silver Age. No Marvel Cinematic Universe. No Marvel Legends action figures. No San Diego Comic Con. No Fourth World. And quite possibly no more comics. The industry would most likely have died out in the 70's without Jack's creativity.

Here's what astounds me the most about him. It wasn't just the fact that he had more imagination and more talent in his little pinky finger than everyone else had in their entire bodies, it's that he was also one of the nicest, kindest and most generous human beings I have ever known.

And he was a true visionary in every sense of the word. He could look at the world and see it not as it is, but how it could and should be. For example, it was Jack who predicted that SDCC would go from being a local comic book show to the huge media driven extravaganza that it is today, covering all aspects of fandom. I'll be the rest of my life trying to figure out how the hell he knew that, but he did. And that's why, in all the worlds of comics, there is and always will be one true King.
