The Countdown to SDCC 2025!

Do we really think Amazon would balk? And no way BTS and Entertainment Earth would complain. And reuse potential? The figure could ostensibly reuse the majority of the Saquatch sculpt with new shins, feet, head and loin loth overlay. He could be done accurately on the cheap.
Fair enough on the reuse part, but even if Amazon or Walmart wouldn't actually balk, it only matters if the company thinks they would and thus wouldn't pitch it. The issue here either Marvel or Hasbro just don't want to do it or pitch it

Jesse works for Disney/Marvel, not Hasbro. I’d imagine that he’s got to be a lot more PR sensitive about M’bakus and whatnot in that role than he was beforehand. The Man-Ape is probably on a short list with Yellow Claw and Frank Rook that necessitates a walk off.

Stormy fall down and go boom.

Tomorrow's the big finale. Then it'll all be over for another year. It's sad, but on the other hand I can use the rest.

@Beamish I spoke to Dan today and he said he still hasn't made a choice. He promises he'll have one tomorrow.

Yay! I finally get to bed before midnight!

Good night, Articulators!

Was honestly kinda surprised there wasn't at least a tease for the next wave of Deadpool and Wolverine figures, but maybe that'll be NYCC. Can't do everything at SDCC, I suppose.

Dan’s comment about doing what sells (X-stuff), along with the fairly solid no GOTG figures coming, coupled with their walk-backs from Avengers and basic avoidance of Thor stuff altogether makes my wallet breathe a sigh of relief. I don’t fault them for doing what a business is supposed to do, but by doing that, they also make it easier for me to start to walk away from the line altogether.

My wallet doesn't breathe. It just coughs out a little dust every now and then.

I love X-Stuff, don't get me wrong, but a lot of the X-Stuff they are making isn't always the X-Stuff I want.

Avengers and cosmic stuff is where my biggest desires will always be.

This one's enclosed but it's one hell of a bumpy ride.

I'd just drive down there but during comic con there's no place to park anywhere west of Arizona.
That sounds to be a bit of a walk! This little southern farm boy got to go to California for the first time ever last winter for work in LA and I think I did more walking than I have ever done.

You definitely put the miles on your feet in the convention center and outside in the Gaslamp Quarter. Wearing comfortable shoes is a MUST.

One of these days I'll be too old to do this but for right now I'm doing OK.

I completely understand from a business standpoint, but also from a business standpoint I don't think Hasbro reads the room well for things outside of Spidey and X.

Let's take Warbow as an example. He's in a rumored BAF wave that doesn't seem to have a running theme, so you have 7 character spots to fill. Warbow seems to be a direct lift from the recently designed Crystar body. Great! Saves money on a lot of tooling. Leaves the budget for the wave open for other things. Straightforward body that leaves plenty of room for a BAF piece. Perfect choice, right?
Or maybe use another new buck, like the fully articulated female body on a long-desired character that fans have been clamoring a long time for and she is a team builder of a team that has stalled and just happens to be a former love interest of Captain America - Diamondback.
Or maybe use the Crystar buck and give us Martinex, who I would hope by now would be recognized as a team fans want to complete, but after my chats, I really don't know anymore.

I speculate that someone on the team loves the very brief run of the Crystar books and will get his or her way until the Crystar characters are finished, regardless of how many of them end up at Ollies/Ross/Marshalls/etc.
Would Diamondback and/or Martinex end up there, too? Sure, but maybe not in the numbers Warbow will.
With limited spots (maybe one BAF, maybe a mini-comic wave and maybe 1 or 2 random 2-packs a year for anything comic-based outside of Spidey and X), Hasbro can make better choices, still be economically savvy and still make more fans happy.
This isn't intended as a dump on Warbow post. He looks cool. I'm sure I'll buy him (on sale) to complete the BAF. I just think some of their choices could be a lot better.

Read the room Hasbro.
