The Countdown to SDCC 2025!

If you really think about it, Marvel Legends is an exercise in frustration. None of us are ever going to get all the characters we want. It's just one day of hoping after another. If you had told me in 2003 when I started collecting that 22 years later I still wouldn't have an Excalibur Rachel Summers I don't think that I would have kept collecting.

Like we want these things and are willing to hand over the money but the likelihood that we ever get most of what we want is so minuscule.

The Marvel Universe is just too big.
I dunno man, I'm kind of the opposite perspective. If you told me in 2003 that I'd have a complete set of Peter David X-Factor I'd think you were a liar. The only reason not having Excalibur Rachel feels crazy is precisely because the line has been so expansive and gone so deep (and because they made the rest of the team years ago - and THAT is crazy, to leave such a gap).

I agree with you that they'll never make all the characters you and I and others here want, but that's because we collectively want the entire Marvel multiverse in plastic. For most people who like Marvel, Legends has made their entire wantlist several times over.

I definitely also see that side of it. Especially when you look at early Toybiz. The fact that we can put together an era specific iteration of several teams would not have been something I ever thought possible back then.

But there are just too many glaring omissions of some of my favorites for me to be too sunshine and rainbows about the state of the line.

Tom Petty was right.

The waiting IS the hardest part ...

So close.....
What questions do y'all have for Dwight and Dan, and possibly other Dan? Maybe Ryan? Longshot Jesse?
  • Are they still planning to do boxsets ? They would be a way to finish, knock out, make dents in large teams in one fell swoop : Invaders/All-Winners Squad/Liberty Legion; Rangers; Serpent Society; New Mutants; etc...
  • Have they considered regular, easy to obtain Pulse exclusives of less well-known characters often requested by collectors ?

I'm sure the answer tobthe box set question is "if a retail partner wants them". The truth of the matter is that after Toys R Us folded, Amazon was the only retail partner asking for the big box sets. Amazon took a beating on the Mutant villain and West Coast Avengers sets. They are selling them for half price and still can't sell out. So it may be that Amazon just isn't eager to sign up for another big box set that they'll be stuck with for years.

Of course. :p But the answers always no if you don't ask. Just want them to know fans still want classic comic based FF figures. Especially villains. But I'd be ok with anything comic based. The FF are under served in Marvel Legends.

Fair enough - ask ‘em from me too! (And add Darkoth, Diablo, Mad Thinker and Awesome Android to the begging list too…)

Agreed. IMO, Rachel is easily the biggest outstanding character. And she's rumored to be coming this year.

Yep. I'll cut them some slack for only making one or two members of my top 10 each year. They covered the first 100+ already.
