Much as I hate Super7.... I would like to finally get a MOTUC-style Lion-O. It's pretty much the one brand I think really works in that style, and even though I now have the Origins stuff, having a Super7 Lion-O next to my MOTUC He-Man is something I have legitimately always wanted. Target exclusive, though? We don't have Target, so... guess I'm SOL.

If they had added articulation to MotUC midway through the line, it would have been a similar situation to Legends, where they'd keep rereleasing characters one the new articulation model, while other minor characters may never get the update. ML can almost be considered two different lines at this point - first attempts, and upgrades. If MotUC did that, I'd probably resent them more for it rather than the uniformity we did get.

They're selling that deluxe Lion-O (new body, based on LED Lion-O, not body based on Mattel) on Amazon too, at least in the states. Might be worth checking there?
 
Hmm. I never got Snarf because I just assumed he'd go on clearance like literally everything S7 has made and $60 for that little guy was too much. But certainly don't want to pay $170 for one off ebay.

So in theory, this is something I'll get. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't like the original paint job much more. All the others in my collection are cartoon colored and it'd bug part of my brain if one wasn't.
 
I didn't realize Snarf was also toy colors. Guess that makes sense to get people to double dip. I want the mold, so hopefully the toy color scheme won't bug me. Heck, I couldn't even tell just by looking or memory, I'd need to compare toon and toy colors side by side.

I didn’t think Super7 could get me with this kind of thing, but kudos to them! I bought Snarf and Lion-O once the prices corrected. I wanted a Snarf and the original Toy Color Lion-o, but for $60 fuck right off with that…. But I had a NECA ambassador gift card so $25 each for a Snarf I can’t tell the difference on (it looks like the giant Snarf toy I had as a kid! That’s fun! I can’t tell how it’s not TV colors!) and a Robot Chicken ass Lion-O is an excellent deal!
 
Since the original Snarf wasn't really painted, I wonder just how close this toy version looks to it. Guess I'll look at my Snarf when I get home (sorry prudes) and try comparing it to the toy version image.

The positive from this is that Super7 has already shipped, while BBTS isn't getting theirs til October. I'll take it.

Well that interview Brian did with Veebs seemed to indicate that would be the plan going forward. Most stuff would be released as either in stock orders or soon to be in stock. The MTO, wait a year model seems to be done at Super7.

I think the lack of any product being shown/debuted recently is also a sign that they have changed their process for releasing figures. The only downside is that we have to get used to this after years of having stuff shown consistently throughout the year. Which I'm fine with if they can actually release product in a reasonable timeframe.
 
It’s funny how they seem to only have two methods or doing things: announce a preorder where delivery is 14+ months away, or do an in-stock sale with almost zero promotion leading up to it. They could, you know, show off prototypes at these things called trade shows and conventions to drum up excitement and get feedback, but I guess that’s too hard.
 
Abandoning the old 'use a preorder to fund manifacture of current product' model is good.

I'm excited because Flashback is my number one most wanted figure for this line. Eager to see what else will come along with it.

Well if the new CEO is driving the change it could take them some time to get rolling on that after having done it the way Brian wanted for so long. I imagine that next year will see more of what you are suggesting.

Or I could be wrong and the new CEO and release model will just be a bump on the road to failure.
 
So the new wave is Flashback, Condor, Melodia, and Hardware, due in March 2026. Still a wait. Fucking lame. I ordered all but Condor from BBTS.
